Front desk was very simple and quick. Room was clean and tidy. Shower and air con worked well. Hostal Orleans is perfect for going to the beach and discovering all of Barcelona. I would definitely book again

Was in Barcelona for an academic conference and needed an quiet and clean place. My room was to the street, a bit noisy when people were celebrating in the bars, but okay. Air conditioning worked well, everything was very clean. Would go there again.

Wonderful friendly, helpful staff. Very clean. Good location on the edge of the old town and quite near the beach. Really hard mattresses unfortunately. The ground level entrance is lovely, marble and wrought iron.

Really great location in the Born district, close to transit and walking distance to many great restaurants and neighbourhoods. We were staying a few days before a cruise, and this was a perfect choice. Comfortable beds (we had two twins), pillows, and really nice ensuite bathroom. Reasonably quiet too, despite facing the street. Others have mentioned the stairs. It's true,...

a cross between a hostel and a hotel but rooms are nice and air conditioned. Friendly staff and very clean. It is a walk up to hotel on 3rd floor and the hotel occupies two floors of the building. Very good location near the beach and public transportation

Hostel has good location, near the sea and la Rambla street. Room has AC, small balcony, shower. Room was clean, tidy everyday with fresh towels. Disadvantage is that hostel is on 3Rd floor and if you have a big suitcase it might hard, but not a big problem. Another disadvantage is that you leave a key everytime you leave the...

The place was fine, but when I got up early, the place smelled of smoke, and I saw the night watchman hiding a lit cigarette! Not just inconsiderate, but subject to fine. No way I would stay there again.

We had a really good time. Good service at a very good location. Not good for people who have trouble walking in stairs. Good air conditioning and very friendly and helpful staff. It's best if you know spanish 'cause the hotel staff are very limited in english. The bathroom wasn't the best but over all okay for a very cheap...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
