Excellent location for exploring all the Barrio Gotico (or old neighborhood) of winding little streets and so many sights. Near metro stations. Clean, safe, cozy. The owner was especially helpful in many ways. He helped us buy our Sagrada Familia tickets online which was a boon. Highly recommend this if you can walk up 2 flights of stairs. Be sure...

A good value location ideal for exploring the old city and getting to the many sites around Barcelona. You can walk almost anywhere from here. Facilities are unique, clean, inviting & comfortable. Located steps from Palau de la musica, restaurants, transit and shops. Owners are friendly and very helpful but do not stay on site late evenings or overnight. Breakfast...

We 've spent very good time in this cosy pension;small but very original and very clean and the most important, the owners are so friendly and funny; we really love to discuss with them; the location is no1:we admired every day the Palau de la musica, such a gem!Close to everything, quite convenient. Pensio 2000 is situated close to two major metro stations, Plaza Cataluyna, multiple bus stops and a taxi stand making it very easy to get to and from. The helpful owners gave us a map and lots of tips about safety and what to do so we were able to walk for miles around Barcelona and catch the metro without...

Nice small pension just near the Palau de la musica (you must visit it). Easy going to the Barrio gotico (5 min) Placa de Catalunya (5 min), underground next door. Friendly owners, small but clean room, breakfast on the terrace.

Pensiò 2000 is located just in front of the Palau de la musica catalana, a masterpiece of catalan modernism. The Barrio gotico and the Eixample (where the Pedrera and Casa Batllo are located) are easy to reach. The Pensio 2000 itself is very nice and cosy. Our room was big enough for two people and the bathroom was clean. The...

This was a very good B&B, with a great location, right next to Palau de Musica, one of the main tourist attractions of Barcelona, and a block to the Cathedral, right in the heart of Barri Gotic. It was also only a 5 minute walk to Placa Catalunya, a main shopping precinct, and where La Rambla started/finished, and one of...

The breakfast (5Euro) was very nice on the balcony with a lot of plants, the owners are a really friendly couple who are willing to help you with any problems you encounter. There is a living room and seperate rooms with showers - very very cosy with good views on the Palau Musica!

This was a great find at 66 Euros a night for a double room, private bath. We were in the back, behind the living room area (room 3 and 4) so we didn't hear any noise from the other guests. The rooms are beautiful, the view is great, we were right in the old city, and despite being across from...

I booked this accommodation based on other reviews. We didn't find it difficult to find- number 6 is marked on the door and there's a sign at the bottom of the stairs. Orlando and his wife took our bags up for us and we had a warm welcome. They are wonderful and made us feel at home. Location is amazing-...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
