I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and really got what I was looking for - cheap, clean and central. The hotel is 50yds walk from the nearest metro station (Paral Lel) and 10 minutes walk to Las Ramblas and the waterfront. Sagrada Familia is reached on the same line (15 minutes) and the bus station 20...

We spent one week in Barcelona and at Auto Hogar. From Hotels.com we got very good pricing for the reservation and were actually a bit of afraid was it too good to be true... But everything was just great! The room was big and nice. There wasn't really anything extra in the room, just the very basic things which normally...

Travelled in October 06 to Barcelona. I had read other comments about this hotel so was a little apprehensive, however this was cheap and in a fantastic location. Staff all spoke english and were pleasent. Yes, you have to walk through a car park to reach the lifts to the rooms - a little annoying... My room was very very...

I stayed at this hotel on the 30th October for 3 nights. The Hotel is in a great location with easy access to the Metro and La Rambla. Our room was in the centre of the hotel- very small. Felt a little cramped! Room was cleaned each morning, fresh towels laid out and bed was made. Very noisey from people...

Good location, about 8mins to rambles or sea front. For the price of the hotel it was very good value. We had to walk through a carpark and up up lots of stairs or use a lift to get to our room. This was very off putting, as it seemed like we were in a multi storey carpark. The room...

We stayed in the auto hogar in mid Sept. From reading the numerous bad reviews on this website about air con not working and noise (Rather stupidly after booking the hotel), we asked at check-in for a 'quiet and air conditioned room'. We were directed through the car park to a room on the 5th floor. The room was rather...

This place was a dump. Stayed there for 2 nights in June. Where do I start ... Room was tiny, air conditioner was broken, shower was broken, telephone was broken, room was old and run down. We asked if we can be moved to another room but they said they were full. The next night they moved us to the...

Arrived on the Saturday afternoon, pleasant staff greeted us. We were shown to our room via going through the famous garage area. We stayed on the fifth floor, i can honestly say that our room was very clean had working aircon and a safety deposit box.I do not have one complaint to make about the hotel, considering it only cost...

We booked this hotel as budget student travellers, wanting a comfortable and cheap place to stay whilst sightseeing and attending Summercase music festival in the city. We were very dubious after reading reviews on here and after a few initial problems concerning the air conditioning and position of our room, we came home very happy with our stay at the...

The rooms we had were booked in April (so it wasn't like we left it to the last minute!) and chose this hotel because it said all rooms have air conditioning, I do not class a heater which has a cold air setting as air conditioning. We left ours on the highest setting (3) all evening as we went out...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
