The hotel was beautiful and had the perfect location, but the service was not always good. The breakfast was very good, but the service and arrogance of some people (especially a lady who I think was the supervisor) were really subpar. The hotel has a very nice bar with wonderful staff during the evening shift (terrible during the other hours) but unfortunately the bar closes at 11pm so we couldn't just enjoy it at the bar of our hotel after our dinner. The hotel is really very good with a good bed and a good shower, but keep the negatives in mind.

Firstly I think they have a great photographer for their website It’s totally oversold, the rooms look nice but particularly stylish or practical We upgraded to a signature balcony - it was a tiny room with one! chair on a very small balcony But the real issue was that apart from check on I found the whole experience very cold It’s just not that friendly and the mini bar and bar are super expensive Overated

I would give this minus 5 if I could. The hotel threw a party in the bar area until 3am (clean up until 3:30am) which kept us awake all night even on the 5th (top) floor. No one advised us of this on booking or on check in. We spoke with front desk on checkout about this and they accepted their fault and advised us to speak to hotels.com for a refund. We have since done this and they are now claiming everyone was informed and refusing to compensate. I wouldn't have stayed here if I had known. This level of customer service is despicable and shows total disregard to paying customers in favour of a cheap buck for a party. It's not a nightclub it's a hotel. Hotel customers should come first. Manager who has lied about telling us is Pau Carrasco. I advise you to look elsewhere for a stay.

We had a nice stay until up until New Years Eve where we discovered that the hotel had sold out the entire lobby/bar to a group running a New Year's Eve party with pounding DJ music until 2 AM. The hotel is completely open-concept, so even on the 5th floor it felt like our room had been turned into a club. At first they said the music would go off at 1:00 AM, but it just kept going and going and they refused to turn it off "because the people at the bar had paid for the party." Absolutely no regard for people who had paid to actually sleep in the hotel. I was looking forward to giving this property a good review from our 5 night stay, but the way this was handled left such a bad impression, I won't return. Had we been notified at booking or even check in, I might have had some understanding, but instead we got a middle of the night surprise. The hotel basically tried to profit twice - first off people paying to sleep here and then off people partying here and the people trying to sleep got screwed.

Response from Sara Vas, Atención al cliente/recepción at Pulitzer Barcelona
Responded 16 Jan 2024
Dear Mrs. Liz O, We appreciate your time in sharing your feedback with us. It saddens us to read that you had a wonderful stay except for the night of New Year’s Eve. Our guests’ experience is extremely important to us, and we apologize if we did not meet your expectations. We would have appreciated the opportunity to hear more about the positive aspects of your 5-night stay, rather than departing with a lingering sense of dissatisfaction. People drive us to create unique experiences and we wanted to be part of this world known celebration that is New Year’s Eve. We regret if there was any miscommunication regarding our "Gala Dinner" celebration, which was extensively promoted on our hotel webpage. We do understand that you experienced some inconveniences during that night, and we, once again, apologize for it. As we tried to communicate upon your departure, and during the conversations we exchanged while at the Hotel, we just wanted to offer the whole New Year’s Eve experience to every guest’ who wanted to share it with us. Please rest assured that your insights are invaluable to us, and we are committed to implementing measures that enhance our service for future special events. Despite what occurred, we would love to welcome you back and hope you regain your trust in Pulitzer Hotels. Please do contact me whenever planning to come back to the city. I will personally help you with all the details and happily welcome you back. Best Wishes, Júlia Salvador – Front Office Manager

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Pulitzer. The hotel is very well situated for exploring the city. The room was very nice and comfortable and the staff — both at the front desk and in the restaurant — was very welcoming and helpful (and very knowledgeable). There is so much to see and do in Barcelona that we are already talking about another trip — and we’ll certainly stay at the Pulitzer again!

Stayed here 2 nights before a cruise. The checkin at the front desk was quick and the staff were very pleasant and helpful in their dining suggestions. There was a dining room which we didn't visit and a lovely bar off the lobby. We booked their most basic room and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It was a corner room with window facing the rear street on the 5 th floor and we heard absolutely no noise from anywhere in or outside the hotel. We were so tired from a long layover in London and the bed was just wonderful. Bath was tiny but very pretty and well appointed. We previously made reservations at the roof top bar for snacks and drinks on the 2nd night and it was lovely for the first 15 minutes until they started blaring the way too loud singing duo that seemed more like karaoke while their 2 adorable kids ran around. It was no wonder the place cleared out of locals when they started up. What a shame. It was a beautiful night, the service, drinks and snacks were good and the view from the top was perfect but the whole thing was ruined with the unbelievably loud screeching of these two singers. No one could carry on a conversation for a full hour. Checkout was a bit of a chore trying to get the front desk to get us a cab. They told us to go across the street to a taxi stand. We had 6 bags! So we trudged across the street twice dodging traffic with 6 bags. Not a good send off. It's a very nice hotel for the price and in a perfect location near Las Ramblas. Lots of dining, cafes, and a supermarket right across the street. We highly recommend the Pulitzer in Barcelona and would stay there again.

Great location and great hotel. I had one minor issue while I was there and staff took care of it for me quickly. Charming hotel room and staff were great. Centrally located so that Born, the Gothic District and the water are all within easy walking distance. Will be back!

Terrific place to stay with two provisos. We are an elderly couple that stayed here mid - October for four nights. The location is superb. The Pulitzer is on a lovely, quiet street around the corner from Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. You can take the bus, the Metro or taxis, which are always in front, to wherever you want to go in this fabulous city. The staff, primarily multilingual young folks, were incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. The breakfast is splendiferous and wonderful. Make sure you include it. The evening meal, and drinks, can be consumed in an extremely comfortable and elegant lounge if you don’t want to go out. The food was creative and quite good.We had a standard room with a balcony. The room was very pretty; the bed exceedingly comfortable and the towels large and thick. Provisos: Not enough drawers or places to store clothes; lamps on either side of bed are inadequate for reading; bathtub/shower was slippery, no grab bar (for old folks) and the way the shower is set up always resulted in a wet floor. Even so, would definitely stay here again. Had a great time.

Perfectly located half a block from Plaza Catalunya from which we caught the hop on-hop off bus. Many restaurants in the area. Two minutes from La Rambla. Hearty breakfast buffet with prepared to order eggs and coffee.
