Great location, excellent staff. Very close to Barcelonetta, practically next door to La Rambla. Rooms were very clean. All receptionists were very friendly and helped out on how to get around the city :) Would definitely stay there again. Very good price for a location.

The only thing I like about this place is the location. It is only about 1 minute walk from Drassanes station and 2 minutes walk to La Rambla. The hostel itself is on the 4th floor of an old building. There is no elevator, just a dark, narrow, dingy staircase. I thought I was going to pass out going up...

Hello, We are very sorry that experience with Pillow One was not to your liking, we are trying to solve every problem as it is a newly acquired hotel in which we are still adapting, hopefully return to Barcelona and they will be waiting delighted seeing him again if desired. Have a nice day!

"Pillow One" is in the centre of Barcelona. Way to the subway station Drassanes least no more than 2 minutes. Rooms are extremly small, but clean. I recommend this place for young people who don't need a lot of comfort. The cost of sleeping in this hostel is really low.

We have booked this place for 3 nights, but we left after 1 night. The beds are placed so close to each other that you nearly can't walk through. The walls was full of dirt and there was BLOOD on the beds. Normally I accept a low standard, when the prices are low too. But this was just amazingly bad!...

For the price we paid the place was great. All these reviews saying how bad it is are just looking for something to complain about. If you go with a group of mates it is brilliant, top location minus the stairs when drunk.

This hostel is really hard to find, we were wondering around trying to find it because we didn't see the sign for the hostel. There are a lot of stairs and no elevator. We stayed in a 6 mixed bedroom which was really small (3 bunk beds), there was not a lot of place to put your stuff. From 2 toilets...

What an absolute nightmare!!! Firstly the signage for the hostel was pretty much non existent. A tiny A4 sign above a door in an awful back alley! We then had the pleasure of climbing up 5 flights of winding, uneven stairs in 40 degree heat. Once we finally arrived the hostel common room (which is absolutely nothing like the photos...

From the photographs it is quite misleading about how big the rooms are. The room that we were given was tiny, sharing with 4 other people. The bathroom was fine though. Quite hard to find the place and when we did we had to climb a million stairs with our bags - no lift. Cheap for barcelona though so if...

I booked this place a bit incidental, and since we couldn't cancelled it (it said special promotions with great prices etc) so we ended up stayed here for 2 nights. The location was great, within reach to La Rambla. So it's perfect for those who look for attractions nearby. However, the hostel itself was on the 4th floor of old...

We spent 2 nights at the hostel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was basic but well-equipped: strong WiFi throughout; clean, large showers; friendly and seemingly-interested staff. The location simply could not be beaten - it is right at the bottom of La Rambla, around 2 minutes walk from the waterfront. There was however one thing that we were disappointed with...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
