Top flight hotel in a great location. Right on Las Ramblas and across the road from old town. Fine restaurants in the area. The hotel interior is beautiful with old wood and much character. Concierge services were excellent with fine restaurants recommended.

We have been to Barcelona quite a few times but it is the first time we have stayed in this hotel. When booking, I mentioned that it was my husband's birthday and on arrival they had upgraded our room and also provided complimentary extras which showed attention to the small details which make a great customer experience. The foyer was...

We stayed two nights at this hotel and it really could not be faulted in any way. I am not sure why it does not have a 5 star rating. It is very centrally located, on La Rambla and just 5 minutes' walk from the bus stop for the airport bus, which runs every 10 minutes. The cost of a...

A very nice hotel !!! Walking distance from beach, shops and some great restaurantsThe rooms were very clean and a good size. Spa area was small, but kept clean and tidy. Cabs to and from Hotel you're looking at 35-40 euros each way. Tourist bus for all routes - 26 euros each for a day pass. Expensive but worth doing...

wesome hotel in Barcelona, right on the very touristy strip of La Rambla, but the location is so central, you can deal with the hoards of tourists. :) The hotel is so clean and luxurious, it is a nice break from the chaos that is outside. The rooftop bar is great - obviously the drinks are a bit pricey, but...

the hotel is on Las Ramblas and easy walking distance to most cites, great restaurants and the wharf. the staff was very helpful and the rooms were nice and clean. The roof top pool is heated in the winter and there is an enclosed pool in the spa area which resembles a Turkish bath. The area where the hotel is...

Everything at H1898 from arrival to departure was perfect, our second time staying here and it just gets better each time! Location is perfect, central to everything, bus tours, walking tours, the market just ideal to step out onto las ramblas. The hotel itself is trendy and comfortable, the spa outstanding and relaxing. The roof terrace is a perfect place...

The location on the Rambla is excellent since many major sights are within walking distance, e.g. the street itself, the Cathedral, the fabulous Picasso Museum, Palao de Musica, Lyceu, Museum of Contemporary Art and the old town at large with its many and varied traditional shops (candles, hats, espadrilles, pastry, knives, antiques, ham). We didn't try the breakfast at the...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
