Nice city hotel. Rooms are small but look new and are clean. I travel a lot and I must say I appreciated getting a room with a bathroom where the sink, the water flush and shower were perfectly clean and working! Paral.lel metro station very close to the hotel. Location is ok but be careful especially when walking alone at...

Recently returned from a 4 night stay in Barcelona with a friend - we asked for twin beds at booking but when we got there only a double was available, which for us wasn't a huge imposition but I couldn't quite understand why they couldn't be made up as separate beds (it was made up of two separate beds in...

I stayed at Hesperia del Port in early April 2010 for one night. We were enroute to join a mediteranean cruise. We arrive early before check in time and room was not ready. The staff was friendly and kept our luggage until the room was ready. We were able to leave our stuff and explore the city. The location was...

Got stuck in Barcelona due to Volcanic Ash preventing flights from landing in UK. Booked this hotel very last minute (same day) as it was the only 3 star hotel in the centre of Barcelona with availability. On arrival we checked in and went to our double room on the 3rd floor. The room was very dark and very small...

We stayed just for one night- the price was incredibly cheap for the cleanliness and modern design of the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke English. The hotel is also right near Las Ramblas, which is a famous tourist shopping street in Barcelona- just keep your wallets close because there are a lot of pick pockets! The only...

The location of this hotel is very close to Las Ramblas (only 5 min to walk), which is good, but doors to the hotel are always closed and are open only by maintaining visual contact with a receptionist. This is kind of an indicator how safe the location of the hotel is. Rooms are incredibly small, so you can barely...

Quiet, clean, in a good spot, nice service, wireless internet, decent price. Room a bit sparse but no problems with staying here.

Very poor customer service by staff members. We checked into a tiny, dark, room. Lights over bed didnt work. The shower temperature changed every few seconds. I liked the location of this hotel, but that was all I liked about it.

We booked this hotel on hotwire and then found out that the Raval is a "seedy" section of town. I was really stressed, but when I got here, the place was sooooo great, I began to relax. I asked the desk person about safety and she said there should be no real concern, and she was right. I even walked...

The Hotel is close to Las ramblas and La Ravel. La Ravel is a more seedier side of Barcelona. If you want a minimalist room and fair service, this is it. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. Try to get a room on the upper floors due to latenight revelers walking by

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
