I wasn't sure what to expect after reading so many Barcelona hotel reviews. Stayed one night here. Saw the Tour de France come right down the street from our hotel room. Very good location for seeing Sagrada Familia church. Too far from Las Ramblas and other tourists. Room was small, as most European rooms. A/C worked fine, room was clean... More

It was pretty special having a view of the sagrada familia from our room especially when lit up at night. Don't let the location put you off, whilst not right in the centre of things it is walking distance to La Rambla and the old town, and of course it is right next to a subway if you prefer not... Stayed here for 3 nights in the run up to Easter 09. Hotel staff are friendly (even the cleaners smile and say 'hola!'), helpful and efficient. The rooms are reasonably sized, well decorated and well maintained. We didn't have a bath in the ensuite, but the 7-nozzle shower made up for that! The rooms do face onto a pretty busy... More

My son and me was in EGH for two nights in December. We had difficulty to find the hotel in the evening, as the hotel hasn't any neon signs outside. Receptionists was young and a not warm at all. Our room was very small; there was only one bed-table; no possibility to lock the bathroom door; only one small towel... More

Location-wise I think this hotel is very conveniently located with a metro station just a few steps away. The Sagrada Familia is totally within walking distance (about 15 mins); alternatively it is only one station away if you take the metro. Also, it is a 10-minute taxi ride from Nord bus station which is where you take airport coaches to... More

A contemporary hotel in a good location (Monumental metro literally a 100 yards away), Sagrada Familia 10 minutes walk away. We spent 3 days exploring this great city and didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel. I have to say that it's not safe to assume that a 4-star hotel will have similar facilities to a typical... More

We stayed here for three nights beginning Dec.2nd. following a nine day cruise. We took a taxi that had room for four and cruise luggage. The taxis charge by the piece and for a larger minivan. We paid about 30 Euros with tip. While checking in, a member of our party had two carryons stolen by thieves in the lobby... More

This shouldn't be taken for the Gaudi Hotel from La Rambla (which I don't know, just that they are different). Eurostars' Gaudi is 10 minutes walk from Sagrada. If you're lucky you'll view it's roof from the hotel's window. Sagrada is close, but this is not downtown nor the gothic quarter (which is a little bit dirty imo). This is... More

The hotel was new and clean. The room was large and had all the mod cons for a 4 start hotel. The staff was helpful and assisted where possible with my friend who was ill. Free internet. The location was also good - 5 minutes from the Sagrada Familia and about a 15-20min minute walk to the Placa Catalunya or... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
