I booked a reservation with this hotel through one of their booking partners. I called within 2 minutes of booking to cancel because I booked the wrong days. This call arrived during standard business hours (9-5 local time) and I was told that their reservation...More
The hotel is in a great location, on a small square close to La Ramblas and the waterfront. It is in a restored Villa and the restoration has been tastefully and effectively done. The rooms like most European hotel rooms are a little small but...More
This review is based on two separate stays and funnily enough the experience was very similar on both occasions. The hotel is rated as a 4 star. That is one star too many. A 4 star hotel, in my opinion, should have certain amenities: decently...More

With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

Hi Kathryn, Hotel Medinacelli has about 5 floor levels with two street facing sides. The streets are generally not busy....both pedestrian and traffic wise. The front of the hotel overlooks a garden square. All buildings in this area are about 5 storeys tall, so no city views. My room had an opening door which faced the side street...no balcony as such. I'm not sure if the hotel guarantees rooms with street views.
