The staff was very friendly. We were very happy with the advice and service from staff. The location is good because it is not far from the port, but it is in a noisy area in a dark and smelly alley. Unfortunately, the room was...More

With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local
musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

Firstly,I believe Krista has her locations mixed up and may be refering to Palau Güell, which is quite close. Parc Güell is at the top of Barcelona ,compared to the hotel mentioned being down near the port. You will find this hotel very well situated for sightseeing places such as the ramblas, the cathedral, the gothic part of the city(it´s actually in the gothic area) at the top of the ramblas in Plaza Catalunya, you could get on the tourist bus that takes you to parc Güell among other spectacular sights such as Sagrada familia church.
