Modern design and furniture, good services , friendly staff , nice and comfortable rooms. Ayre has a big Ace in hand , because is very good located , near from the Plaza di Spania , where you can take the subway, a very well planned metro network. I wrote this review now but we stayed at Ayre in september 2010...

I stayed at this hotel for one night, post cruise. The location was great for getting to the airport and all of the "touristy" stuff was a short metro trip away. There were not many options in the area for restaurants, we ended up getting hotdogs and french fries for dinner. Although, there is a great little bakery a couple...

Service is good. I sometimes pester them about directions around Barcelona and they gladly help. Some standard stuff are lacking sometimes in the bathroom and have to ask and they come up with it pretty quick. The hotel is clean and design modern. Free wifi but good enough for low data usage only like browsing and email stuff, no multimedia...

Hotel Gran Via is very well located; the rooms are nice; breakfast is quite good; the staff are extremely helpful and cheerful - they go out of their way to find places to eat that we liked as well as helping to find performances and other activities that we wanted. Carlos is especially helpful - really a go-to person -...

We stayed one night at Ayre Hotel Gran Via near Place Esperanza before our cruise the next day for less than 100e. Took bus from airport, got off at Place Esperanza and walked one block south of bus drop off. Or right back down same street you arrived on. Couldn't have been easier! Front desk staff is super helpful and...

The hotel is in a good location by Gran Via. It is easy to get to by getting the areobus for 5 euros and it is the first stop to espanya, to get to the hotel you just need to walk back one block, it is very easy. We got a taxi which cost max of 25 euro from the...

I don't know how they hang onto their 4 star rating. I would consider this a nice 3 star. The rooms were run down and not what I would have expected with a 4 star rating. Don't get a room on the street side, ask for one away from the traffic. It is very convenient to the metro. The hotel...

Right in front of shopping centre, modern design Hotel and friendly staff. Very good breakfast with “nespresso” coffee, a unusually luxury, one of the best I had at regular hotels (not all-inclusive resort´s). Convention centre and Metro station at walking distance.

Hotel with modern rooms, free wifi (although quite slow) and generally good service. Metro station is about a block away and you have a mall about the same distance away. It is generally the style of hotel I enjoy, which has a modern look, comfy bed and acceptable service. For business, I would stay here again. For pleasure, I might...

Group of 10 of us booked for 2 nights this week. rooms were great, I was on the 8th floor great views. Absolutely NO NOISE during the night, even though it is on one of the busiest roads in Barcelona. I discovered the metro station 100m from the hotel, It was great, I must do public transport more often!!! Helpful...

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
