We found the Patio through a friend who had stayed there. It's a 2 room bed and breakfast with a breadfast/sitting room and one bath. We had both rooms for a 3 night stay. It's a little oasis of peace and quiet in the middle to the city. Tony and Liz were great hosts, knowledgeable and helpful. They arranged transportation...

The rave reviews that The Patio has received are refreshing to see. I didn't check Tripadvisor before going. It was just one of those things, in my travels, that I saw somewhere and felt like trying out. Thankfully. What a find. Liz and Tony are superb hosts. Welcoming, generous, hospitable, and full of valuable tips. And, coming from a very...

It was blind luck that led me to The Patio, but you can't do better in my book. The rooms are comfortable, the neighborhood is peaceful and the hosts Tony & Liz are knowledgeable, sharing and caring! and breakfast was light and deliceous. A metro stop is directly across the street which puts ALL of Barcelona within reach of a...

Having read the glowing reviews for the Patio I was keen to give it a try but unfortunately on 2 occasions my required dates were fully booked. Due to a bit of an IT problem I ended up ringing Liz and she recommended a stay in either of the apartments and so I booked for my partner and self to...

We stayed at The Patio for three nights in February 2012, and we couldn't have had a more comfortable and enjoyable time. The entrance is just steps from the subway stop, and the apartment is incredibly well-located for seeing the city, both by foot and by subway. Elizabeth and Tony greeted us warmly when we arrived, and they were very...

I had stayed at the Patio a year ago for a family trip with my husband and our three children and my second visit, this time on a girls' shopping weekend, was every bit as wonderful. Liz and Tony are the most wonderful hosts if you need any information or help planning your time in Barcelona. The apartment itself is...

My wife and I spent an enjoyable few days at the Patio. My second visit and they have made some nice improvements to the apartment. The apartment has everything that you may need and Elizabeth and Tony are sincere and warm hosts who go out of their way to make your stay in Barcelona more enjoyable.

Stayed in the Patio for 3 nights in November, and had such a great time! It's quiet yet central, and decorated to make you feel at home. Liz has the wonderful ability to think for you and understands what you need away from home, this comes through both in decorations and the advice she gives on what to see and...

We loved The Patio! One, it's adorable, and Liz and Tony are wonderful hosts. Liz was a wealth of information, and recommended sites to see as well as restaurants for lunch and dinner. We woke to a bowl of fresh fruit and coffee every morning, along with cereal and toast. Everything was spacious, clean, and very homey. The Patio is...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Patio is a cosy two room B&B tucked away in the inner courtyard of a larger building in the Ensanche neighbourhood. The B&B is totally separate from the owners' home, maintaining privacy, but with a connecting door in the kitchen. The main room of the B&B has a sofa where guests can sit and relax, and a table that seats all the guests, where the breakfast is served. Guests are welcome to make themselves a coffee or tea at any time during the day. One of the highlights of the B&B is the patio just above the guest rooms, where there is a table, chairs, umbrella and plants. Perfect for a sunny break during the day or for relaxing with a glass of wine and a book in the evening........ ... more   less
