The Sercotel Kalma Sitges Hotel garners praise for its chic and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by a charming patio and rooftop terrace. Guests appreciate the attentive and friendly service across all levels of staff. While the accommodations offer spaciousness and stunning sea vistas, the rooftop pool is noted for being on the smaller side.
Its strategic location is celebrated for its proximity to beaches and ease of travel to Barcelona. Cleanliness stands out as a strong point, and the overall value is recognized as good, despite some areas appearing slightly outdated.

Detailed Reviews
Can't really find much to fault in this hotel. My husband and I stayed here from 3rd to 17th June while visiting for Pride.
We had paid to upgrade to the pool terrace / sea view room. It was perfect. The only minor issue we had was that when we booked the room, the description said it had private access to the pool area. In the room, it was clear there used to be a gate there, but it had been nailed closed. Whilst it would have been nice, it didn't cause any major inconvenience.
The check in was swift and efficient- we had the option to check in online the day before, which was beneficial as our flight was delayed and we arrived close to midnight.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful at all times we interacted with them, and the cleaning staff do an amazing job!!
We originally were booked into room 401. For the first 2.5 days this was fine, until we realised the air con wasn't working properly. When we asked reception to look into it, they sent someone as soon as they could. Unfortunately that person was unable to fix the aircon at that time so we were offered the only other room similar to ours- room 409. This was dealt with swiftly and friendly. Again a credit to the service in this hotel.
The pool area itself is pretty relaxed and small, but good in a way to get chatting to other guests. Perfect views over the Med.
I think it may have been because we changed rooms, but our key cards got deactivated 4 days in a row. When I mentioned this to reception, they could not have been more apologetic, done some sort of "magic" and the keys never failed for the remainder of our stay.
The location is perfect on the beach, very close to most things in the centre of Sitges, including the main LGBTQ+ venues.
I gave this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 as a result of the few minor issues above, but all in all we loved it and would 100% recommend.
We have already enquired about booking similar dates next year in the same room. I look forward to being back in Kalma, Sitges!

The hotel decor and the rooms are very Spartan. The amenities supplied consisted of two tiny shower gel tubes. In the room you get a very small tv and a heavy duty uncomfortable chair. No coffeemaker, no trash bin, no tissues, etc. service was very good, staff very efficient and responsive however this hotel feels more like a 3 star than a 4 star. Good wifi.

Dear customer, thank you for the time you've taken to comment your experience at Kalma Sitges Hotel. I'd like that you rather spent a great time at the hotel, but it's evident that you haven't. Rooms are old fashioned, that's right, but we are planning a refurbishment for 2022. It was supposed to be done this year, but the pandemic situation has obligate us to pospone our projects. Nevertheless, the rates has been established accordingly. We can't forget that we are first line situated to the sea, so the location is top. Because of Covid-19, we have retired the trash bin from the room, just leaving the one in the WC, because it's covered, and the amenities you found up in the room are the most essential ones, but as you've been informed at reception desk, you've to download the app of the company, "Sercotel Hotel Group" to access to all our services and facilities. There you've the option to ask for more amenities in the room, such as tissues, tooth brush and paste, shaving set, etc. Nevertheless, thanks for your review and for highlight the efficiency of our staff. Hopefully you give us a second chance. Bes regards, Jessica Lasser Manager Kalma Sitges Hotel

The hotel is in an excellent location on the sea-front. It is only a 30 second walk to the beach! It is also only a few minutes walk to the centre of Sitges, which is a beautiful town with lots of interesting buildings and history. It also has a great choice of cafes and restaurants.
We had a first floor room with balcony over-looking the sea which was great! The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful and there was always someone on duty. The housekeeping staff also did a great job, cleaning the room and replacing towels and sheets as and when required.
We ate breakfast at the hotel everyday. There was an excellent choice of both hot and cold food and the breakfast room was spacious and light. It was also possible to eat outside at the front of the hotel when the weather permitted. Again, the breakfast staff were very welcoming and helpful.
We highly recommend Kalma Sitges Hotel!

Where do you start when there is so much that was disappointing. This is not in any shape or form a 4 star hotel. If this is a four star hotel our friends who were staying further along the promenade must have been staying in a 12 star hotel? To top it all their hotel was less expensive! We were booked in for 5 nights and selected a so called 'superior' room. There is absolutely nothing superior about these tired rooms, there are no rooms other than these so called 'superior' rooms. All the rooms that do not have a sea view are at the back and you look out at an apartment block metres away and down into untidy yards for houses and shops - see photo's. Why anyone would sit on the rear room balcony as it receives no sun during the day and has no view whatsoever is beyond me! The entrance lobby on arrival gives a good impression but you soon discover its just a facade for a hotel that is well past its sell by date. The room was small, just over 3 metres x 3 .5 metres and a typical 1980's type layout with a shower over the bath. On arrival we returned to reception to ask for a larger room as it was a 5 night stay but were told all the rooms were the same size. Needless to say we spent very little time in the room. It had a large TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar. The TV has no English speaking channels at all. There is one chair in the small space between the desk with TV and the bed so if you do watch the TV you have to sit on the bed. If you sit at the top of the bed against the wall the bed moves away from the wall. Two PAPER cups and plastic spoons are provided for you to make tea or coffee - REMINDER - this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. There is a narrow roof terrace that would be filled easily with guests in the summer months with what can only be described as a paddling pool. There are NO services whatsoever in the evenings or during the day. There is no bar or restaurant service, however on a Sunday lunchtime the a restaurant was operating for the front external terrace when we arrived but even during the early days of the carnival nothing was offered. You cannot ask for a drink on the roof terrace or in the entrance lobby as no bar exists. There are a variety of seats in the very large entrance lobby, if you sit there in the evening to escape the confines of your small room there are no services. The breakfast can only be described as 'adequate' certainly not a patch on the 3 star hotel we used prior to our stay in Sitges. There is private parking in the hotel basement, we moved our car as some of the hotels waste pipes that run across the ceiling of the parking were leaking and large water tubs were placed to collect the water that was spreading around. On a positive note most of the staff were all polite and helpful. Apparently this dated hotel has been taken over by the Kalma group in recent years. It has been given a lick of paint but it is now well past its sell by date and certainly not a place we will ever stay in again despite its excellent location.

Dear Ms & Mr. Hindhaugh, First at all, thanks for the time you’ve spent writing this detail review about your stay at Kalma Sitges Hotel. I would prefer your experience had been better than it finally was. We really work hard every day to deliver the best service to our customer, but it’s obvious that we felt short this time. Let me answer you, one to one, to all your appreciations. The category of the hotel has been established by the Administration judgment and we gather the necessary requirements to be a 4-star hotel. Concerning our rates, we are the most cheapest hotel in comparation to our direct competence (Hotel Calipolis, Hotel MiM, …), but, for sure, we are a bit more expensive than the hotels situated at the end of the promenade, because of their situation (2 km far away from the center). Kalma Sitges has a prime location: just in front of the sea and in the main center of the town. I completely agree with you that our hotel looks old fashioned, but the prices have been established considering our product. The type of room you’ve booked for was the most cheapest one, because it doesn’t have any view. For sure, the Sea View Rooms consist of the best views towards the sea, but there’s a suplement of 20 € in low season and more than 70 € in high season. Regardless of the type of room booked, we take special care of the cleaning and the equipment in all our rooms (minibar, amenities, safe, TV 49”, kettle with paper glasses, because of Covid situation), because we want that our customer feels comfortable anytime. In relation to the restaurant, it’s managed by an outside company (lunch/ dinner/bar service), with exception of the breakfast. They just open on weekends and it’s published on our website. Even so, the good thing is that in this area, you can find plenty of restaurants and bars open, just a few metres away from the hotel. Breakfast is served by our hotel team. We offer a buffet, which is standardized for the whole hotel company and it consists of: 7 different bread and pastries references, fruit (apple, bananas, pineapple, oranges, melon), 4 different types of cereals, nuts, “churros” with chocolate, 4 different types of yogurts, mermelades, Nutella, butter, cured and cooked ham, turkey, 3 different cheese references, bacon, scrumbled eggs, Spanish omlette, tea selection, coffee, orange juice, pineapple and peach juice and 3 different types of milk. Just let us know what did you miss for breakfast in order to transfer your suggestion to our F&B Department. The tables are cleaned and desinfected daily, but it’s true that they need a painting cover, which will be done during the next 2 weeks. The pool is closed at this time of the year and we inform about this fact on the website as well. Nevertheless, we consider that the terrace is a very good place to rest, read a book or just enjoy the fabulous views to the promenade and the sea and that’s the reason why we keep it open, but swimming in the pool is prohibited and there’s no service up in the roof top, only during the summer season. Now, referring to the parking, it’s shared with the neighbours of the 2 adjoining buildings to the hotel. Any breakdown must be corrected by the agency that managed the garage. In fact, the incidence with the waste pipes you mentioned, has been already solved out by them. Just to explain you a little more about our history: “Sercotel Hotel Group” took possession of this hotel in May 2019. In less than 2 months, we refurbished the lobby and the restaurant, but we were not in time to reform the 47 rooms, as we were already in “high season”, so hotel was fully booked. We plan to carry out some actions soon to improve all the hotel rooms. Sercotel Hotel Group is a very professional hotel company, with a large number of fabulous hotels around the Spanish country, which I would recommend you to visit. I suggest you to give us a second chance and come in a couple of months again, after the refurbishment, so that you can appreciate first-hand the changes that have been made. In future times, I invite you to address any suggestions or complaints directly to me, the hotel manager. I am always available for anything the customers may need. I didn’t receive any complaint about your stay during these 5 days accommodation. If I should now about it, perhaps we could have done something to make your stay more comfortable than it finally was. Yours sincerely, Jessica Lasser Manager Kalma Sitges Hotel

This hotel is not a 4* hotel more like a basic 2*. They have no bar or restaurant open in day time, no pool bar, no pool towels, a restaurant open 4/5 hours in evening apart from Sunday & Monday where nothing available!
The checkin experience was poor, the guy was sharp, unhelpful and main aim was to sell an upgrade at €50 a night and get a credit card. Little information was given, we know why as they offer very few services at the hotel!
The rooms are small and very dated. Not 4* standard in terms of decor and furniture. Marks on walls, wall paper hanging off, holes in bathroom where things have fallen off and not been replaced, towel rail hanging off etc. Floor wasn’t clean and cleaning service poor, 1700 one day before the cleaner arrived.
The pool looks good from a distance but closeup it’s just had a cheap makeover with broken tiles and lots of wear and tear. The views are good from pool when stood up.
The sea view rooms in our opinion on the upper floors wouldn’t be worth the upgrade as you’d be looking at concrete when sitting on balcony, see photo attached.
The hotel is poor, staff not helpful, serious lack of services available and a general disappointment. The old saying you get what you pay for applies here!
The hotel does not deserve to display 4* on the door as it clearly is not at that standard. Would not recommend or stay again at this hotel I’m afraid.

Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. I have to confess that I'm very impressed with your review, because our general score lays between 8 and 9. Also, most of our customers give a very positive mark to the whole hotel team: reception, restaurant and housekeeping, because they really try to offer the best service ever. That's why y really feel surprised about your comment. Well, as you've noticed, we've began to refurbished several areas, as we've started with the management of this hotel in May 2019. The hall is completely new, the restaurant as well and the furnitures on the top floor also. Of course there are many things to do. Rooms are coming next. Nevertheless, we try that in the rooms nothing is missing: cleaning, comfortable beds, kettle pack, plenty of amenities, minibar, safe, wi-fi connection, laundry service, etc. Concerning services, from Tuesday till Saturday we have room service from 7 till 11 pm. Nevertheless, the waiter is there from 4 pm on, so in case you want to drink or eat something, there's no problem at all. Sundays and Mondays there's no service, because these are the 2 days where we register a very poor occupation and, normally, the clients staying at the hotel are not interested in our room service, because they prefer to go out and have lunch or dinner outside. Concerning the upgrade of 50 €, this has to be a misunderstanding, because our rates, nowadays, are rounding this price. The Upgrade is around 15 € now and in high season between 40 y 50 €. Nevertheless, I'll talk to the recepction team in order to know what could happen. This is your feedback and I appreciate your comments and suggestion. Yours sincerely, Jessica Lasser Manager Kalma Sitges Hotel

I have made a review on another website and the management have responded with a twisted response. They are either in complete denial or milking everyone for money
I booked and it clearly said out door pool it did not say seasonal so the poolwas closed.
The first room had yellow stained sheets and hair.
They said they had no manager just a person doing management shifts. No one said sorry!!
The breakfast is pathetic and the worst I have seen from an hotel and yes Kalma hotel I have stayed in many from the burj to the ritz in Madrid and 1 star in Barcelona that wipes the floor with your excuse of an hotel.
Your air con you advertise is locked on heat only
And I was told not possible to do anything also no fans
Your breakfast you say has a wide selection I asked for hard boiled egg and again told Not possible it should be written on your door
Not possibe as that's your response
You are not 4 star and are exploiting people.
You should be ashamed but from your robitc and rude response you clearly don't care!!!

Dear guest, I will not go into details with you again, since I already did it. My only intention is always be polite and professional and give a coherent and individual answer to all our customers. The guest reviews means a lot to me, because they help us to offer day by day a better service, which is our main aim. From my side, I will always care about our hotel guests. Just let me inform you that the entire team was surprised after reading your comment, since at no time did you mention any disappointment regarding your stay with us, so, we couldn't offer you any alternative to your negative experience. Hopefully for us, most of our guest reviews are positive. I would like you've got the same good experience as the 90% of our hotel customers. Best regards, Jessica Lasser Manager Kalma Sitges Hotel

I have booked the best sea view balcony room in the hotel well over €1000 for 4 nights, and have stayed in the same hotel and same room before.
There is a kettle two plastic cups, but if you want plain everyday water for the kettle or to drink you have to buy it from the minibar at €1.50 for a tiny bottle! It’s currently over 30c and based on the recommended daily water intake, it would cost over €100 for plain old water for a 4 day stay. Reception just shrug their shoulders and say there’s a QR code on the fridge to scan which will give you the 33cl price of €1.50 and it’s normal practice not to provide water. Well 12 weeks travelling per year tells me otherwise!
Also supposed to be a smoke free hotel, but our room definitely smells of cigarette smoke. Only been here a few hours so it’s not looking good so far. We travel 12 weeks per year and have never had water not proved for fee. Bizarrely they have provided a comb in the room, who needs a comb?? Everyone needs water.

Dear Ms. Gallimore, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I sincerely regret that our recent adjustments to the welcome protocol, along with the note of apology and chocolates we provided, did not enhance your experience during your stay. It is disappointing to hear that our efforts to monitor your satisfaction throughout your visit fell short of improving your overall impression. I understand your frustration regarding the water availability, and while we do offer water through the minibar at a set price, I acknowledge your concerns about the cost. However, I feel it’s important to mention that our team consistently strives to maintain high standards in areas such as cleanliness, our prime location, and breakfast offerings, which we know you appreciated. Given your satisfaction with other aspects of your stay, it is disheartening that these positive elements were overshadowed, leading to such a critical evaluation. We believe that the quality and location of our hotel, along with the breakfast service, contribute significantly to the overall experience and would have hoped they might have balanced your perspective. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will certainly take it into account as we continue to refine our services. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, allowing us the chance to provide a stay that fully meets your expectations. Kind regards,

This place isn’t a 5 star in terms of luxury. However the service , location, facilities(Great shower pressure and hot water which can be rare in Spain, rooftop pool, cheap, and good all you can eat breakfast and thorough fast maid service, big bath towels) make it a 5 star winner. The staff are great and always friendly. The location couldn’t be better although when there is a big event it’s noisy. Overall great value for money and welcoming staff.

Pros:
The hotel is very well located.
The room was small but with everything needed.
The room was available when I checked in (around 12:30)
Cons:
The view of the room was directly to the balcony of the building next to the hotel.
The bedding was bad. I stayed in the summer, with the AC off, and I was cold during the night as the bedding did not retain the body heat. Other friends in other rooms had the same experience.
The air filter in the bathroom was probably never cleaned, and it was absolutely disgusting.
In the room I stayed, the storage for clothes was very limited, but that is not true for other rooms
The Wi-Fi signal was very week in the room I stayed
This for me looked more like a 3 stars hotel than a 4 stars hotel. Very overpriced as I paid ÂŁ750 for 2 nights and I was expecting a much better experience. However, its location is just in front of the beach, which makes it very convenient.

+1
The hotel is fairly new the staff were friendly always saying hello as you walked past. All staff I came into contact with spoke English and were helpful even with things like PCR tests and fit to fly certificates. Housekeeping were exelant keeping the room clean even with all our clutter. Views across the sea were perfect wand waking up each day to the sound of the sea was just perfect.

Good afternoon,
the restaurant does not have a menu for vegans. Concerning the reviews, don't worry about that. Most of the customers came here for the last 10 years and it seems that they don't like the changes we are doing nowadays. We have completely change the lobby and the pool area in less than 1 week. Once you come to the hotel, there won't be any refurbishment anymore. The restaurant is managed by an outside company, but the customer breakfast is served there. It's a buffet and it consists of:
Fruit, 3 different types of bread, chocolate with "churros", Catalan Sausage, omellette, yoghurt, 3 different type of cheeses, ham, tea, coffee, milk, juices and cava. Once you arrive, please, ask for me, Jessica Lasser, and I will show you all the spaces and hope you like the changes.
I will do my best in order that you feel comfortable.
Best regards,
Jessica Lasser

It has its own bar but, sadly, no longer its own restaurant. They serve breakfast in the bar.
Parking at hotel is 29 euro.s a day, not a lot of places to park full stop !
We stayed in May and there is no iron available in the rooms or at reception. Best taking a travel one if you can
