This place turns into a guarderia for tots at about 6:30 pm in the evening. If you feel like having a drink with 2 yr olds. that is fine, but at the current rates, I don't think so. Aside from the kindergarten in the main hall, the service is miserable, staff miserable, and I wish I had booked elsewhere. Do... More

We stopped here for one night en route to Cantabria, having already visited Haro a few year ago. The hotel is a really beautifully converted monastery - amazing atrium conversion of the central courtyard - and tastefully furnished. The bedroom itself had a slightly austere feel in keeping with the history of the , but the beds were comfortable, the... More

This is truly a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. Great service and attention to detail. The historical building just added to the enjoyment. The hotel's breakfast is superb and the restaurant has a good selection of dishes of the region and, of course, delectable Rioja wines.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast is adequate. The street noise went on until 2am on the weekend and until midnight on the week days. Very difficult to sleep. Be advised that the air conditioning is turned off On October 1st. Interesting building. Staff not very helpful

Had lunch here as part of a tour of the area - it wasn't perfect but very good value and overall very good. Several courses with wine - steak particularly good. Extremely nice setting sitting in the courtyard. Would definitely like to stay in future.

Lovely historic building and well appointed rooms. We found the service in the dining room was very slow which was a shame as the food and wine were very good. Generally the staff were not 'sympatico'. There are plenty of restaurants around which were lively and welcoming. (I must add that we were a party of 8 youthful OAP's and... More

It's always great to see how an historic building has been preserved and now performing a useful modern day role but without compromising the history. This hotel is a stunning example and it is worth visiting just to look at what has been done, particularly with the cloisters. The public areas are spacious as are the bedrooms but for me... More

Situated in a centuries old building, the hotel is very well maintained and appointed. The lobby, atrium (where you have a buffet breakfast), and rooms are all first rate. Our room was a corner unit with good light, but VERY poor free wifi. We had a laundry request that the staff handled quickly. Parking was easy, with reserved curbside spaces... More

If you want a really good Base whilst you tour the Rioja region, then this is it. Very Good service, great Menu and when the food comes also very good, try the Ham and Tomato, Asparagus and/or the Octopus. Full of History and old Spanish Charm,

Stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of the month while touring the bodegas in the area. We had a inside facing room on the 3rd floor which was a good size, just a shame there was no natural daylight as was overlooking the atrium (but still light from the atrium coming through). The hotel was a perfect location for... More
