Hotel is Located in a very convenient location, it's just few steps from Mayor Plaza. The Family rooms are very good. Especially if you are travelling with children, the twin Bunk bed is very much useful. Breakfast is good. Front desk staffs are very co-operative

From the outside, the Petit Palace doesn't seem that great, however, once you go in you know you're in a wonderful hotel, from the superb customer service, to the tidy rooms, the amazing shower, to the amazing location, and the 5 star breakfast. We truly loved it!

This hotel was well located for all the main attractions in Madrid. It is opposite a great indoor food and drink market, buzzing with atmosphere. We didn't have breakfast there, but right next door is a small coffee and croissant place, just 2 euros. The room was clean, the bathroom lovely. It was a bit cramped for three single ladies...

The staff went above and beyond, the shower was amazing and the room was clean with very comfortable bed. The property is within close walking distance to the Palace, Puerto del Sol, Market for tapas and Plaza Mayor. One downside was that only the heat or air runs so going in March when it is supposed to be cold but...

Excellent location, at the corner of Plaza Mayor, opposite to the san Miguel Market. The general feeling in the hotel is rather 3 stars than 4 stars. The room was somewhat dusty, the daily cleaning is not as elaborate as expected. Good breakfast, a wide selection of choices. Staff needed to be encouraged to refill the empty trays, though. Only...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
