Good stay with my family over New Year in Madrid (2 adults and 2 bigger kids). Good location in fashion district - excellent for shopping. Bathroom included in the room, therefore travelers must be quite close to each other.

This is my first experience with this chain of hotels. It's very basic. Simple room and simple service. Asked for a kettle and they brought me one that was meant for dispensing, didn't say anything about it so I got my feet burnt. Raining when we got in, asked for an umbrella (simple request I thought) and reply was that...

The hotel is on a side street surrounded by lovely shops, bars and restaurants. The reception area was really cool with old fashioned bikes and funky lighting. The rooms are fairly small but this is to be expected in a main city such as Madrid. The only awkward thing was the bathroom. It makes up part of the room and...

This hotel offers great and convenient location in the center of Salamanca, among best restaurants and shopping places. Rooms are clean but glass shower is a setback, breakfast is very good. Service friendly. Good pricing.

PP Art Gallery is located in the Salamanca district which is known for fine shopping and good restaurants. It is also a safe neighborhood. My room was a double on the 3rd floor (4th floor to Americans) with a good view of Calle Legasca. The street noise was minimal so the room was generally very quiet. The workers at the...

Loved my stay at Petit Palace Art Gallery - the decor was nice (artsy/ trendy/ modern), and the neighborhood is fantastic: narrow tree-lined streets with lots of shopping and good restaurants around. It's also a quick walk to the gorgeous Buen Retiro park and convenient to get around Madrid's city centre. The restaurant (in the basement) was incredibly charming and...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
