For visits to either the Museo del Prado or Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, it's hard to imagine a better location than the Radisson Blu Hotel, Madrid Prado. The hotel is nestled between buildings, offering a buffer to the noise of the nearby street, and offers easy access for taxis from the main road. I booked a standard room and received an upgrade...

The hotel was quite conveniently located across the street from the Prado museum. The lobby was underwhelming and the rooms were small. Breakfast was good but not worth the price. Overall, fine choice, but we don't plan to return.

I had the fantastic opportunity to experience a night in the sumptuous Radisson Blue Hotel in Madrid and I wish I had stayed longer. I highly recommend the Radisson not only for the location (so close to the Prado) and the variety of facilities (Spa, Swimming pool, Fitness) that will help you to relax after a whole day of walks...

Fantastic location, perfect for a city break as everything is within walking distance (only 5 minutes walk to each of the three most important museums: Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia). Although in the midst of restaurants, bars and night life, the hotel was very quiet. Helpful and friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, good shower and plenty of toiletries (shower...

Spent several nights at this hotel and was pretty pleased overall. The location is good, a fifteen minute walk or so to Plaza Mayor and central areas. Close enough to be accessible but also quiet. The room was nice...the bed was a little firmer than we like, but that is preference. The staff did their best to resolve by providing...

We stayed here last week for 4 nights, using Club Carlson points. I got upgraded to a business room which basically gets you dressing gowns and a coffee maker. It didn’t have a desk however, so not really a business room in that dsense. Rooms are newly refurbished and very clean, although slightly small if you’re not used to Madrid...

Staff were helpful from the outset. Room was nice and quiet. We were going to use the massage at the spa but it was hugely overpriced at €80 instead we used one in the city for half that. Breakfast was mediocre and basic and at €17.50 was one of the most expensive I have come across. Go outside for breakfast...

Stayed in Madrid for 4 nights and was recommended this hotel by a friend. Keeping up to its promises, and more! It is located opposite to the city's most famous museum, the "Prado". Not directly on the Paseo de Prado, but around 50 Meters back in a cosy side street, thus not affected by the traffic noise. We had our...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
