Let me start with the positives. This hotel has a lovely and helpful staff. The structure of the building is very interesting, and there is a nice courtyard bar. The location is pretty convenient and near a funky part of town. Most of our issues were with our room. One would think that being on the top floor is a...

I really enjoyed my stay at the Petit Palace Santa Barbara in Madrid. My room was clean, there were lot of bathroom amenities, beatiful view from the window, healthy breakfast and beautiful garden. And most important the staff was very helpful and friendly :-) The metro station was really close and I also used their airport transportation.

Fabulous stay and very welcoming staff with an excellent breakfast. We had stayed at a Petit Palace in Malaga before and that was good - this was even better. Good room, good wifi, good location by tube station and not that far to walk into the centre of Madrid eg Plaza Mayor or Sol. When we arrived it was a...

We were in this hotel due to a congres in Madrid - we all felt very lucky to be in this hotel. The service is great, and so is breakfast. We missed coffee and tea service at the room. But al over -- very good!

Very friendly staff. People at the reception speak English, in the restaurant they don't. But they do their very best to communicate. The food in the restaurant is absolutely great. Also breakfast is superb. The best I've had anywhere in Madrid. Very good quality bed in a spacious room. The street side is noisy, but the windows are very noise-proof....

The location is great! 10 minutes walk from Gran via street. Many bars and returants near the hotel. We didn't go to meuseums but there are several ones in a walking distanse. The hotel looks modern and very comfortable, with a large bed and the staff were very nice and helpful. Defenetly will recommend this hotel to my friends!

Perfect location, in the center but quiet. The room looked great and the shower was perfect. Breakfast was very good and the most important thing - the...

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Perfect for everyone especially families. We stayed in Rm 308 which was a HUGE family room with a fantastic view of the plaza in front. Kids loved the bunk bed. Bathroom was modern with all new sink and showers. Very spacious. This is an environmentally friendly hotel. Breakfasts choices are...

The hotel is in a good location, fairly close to the city center. It is located in a young-atmosphere neighborhood with quite a few restaurants and bars. Hotel staff is helpful and knows English (unlike most people in Spain). Breakfast is amazing with many options.

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
