In the middle of Gran Via, this hotel is the perfect location to anyone coming for a shopping spree in Madrid. Hotel staff is friendly in general and few requests were answered and executed immediately. Other than a minor incident when asking for a fresh banana at breakfast which was answered by a strict NO, everything else was really great.... More

We stayed here with young children 14 years ago so it seems the hotel has neither improved nor gone down hill but I expected a bit more. To start with we booked a double room with a double bed but we placed in a room with 2 single beds that had wheels which keep the beds moving just by sitting... More

The Hotel was clean, the security officer located at the bottom floor was very nice. Check-in is located on the 1st floor. The personnel was nice and conversational about the amenities and general area. The room was clean and the air conditioning was working great (not as our previous experience this October in other hotels). .

This Hotel was very nice, the room was comfortable and in a great location, walking distance to a few plazas and the stop for the city hop on hop off bus was just around the corner. We also had a great restaurant recommendation from the hotel waitstaff.

Convenient for shopping, central for many tourist sites and certainly a quality hotel with friendly staff. We appreciated this well maintained classic building. Opting for breakfast every day when we arrived and were pleasantly surprised it was half price for children. Coffee and tea is available in a comfortable area on 1st floor rather than facilities in rooms; this worked... More

this hotel is very comfortable, clean and convenient for all of Madrid's sites. We were very kindly up graded as it was my husbands birthday and were very pleased with the room. It had a view of the Gran Via and although this is a very busy main road in Madrid it wasnt particularly noisy as we were 8 floors... More

So I turn up at this hotel with the completely wrong date. I booked for a month later than I should have. The desperation in my face must have said it all, as my Spanish is not the best. I had been traveling from Australia, via NYC, so I was rather exhausted. The staff was fantastic. Besides having an almost... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.

“As in any Hotel Tripp, they do no provide a bar soap, they give you liquid soap to be also used as hair shampoo. There is no hair conditioner. Yet they give you toiletries which are very beneficial for the trip and for other trips in the future, including shaving blade and cream, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair comb, sponge for bath, shoe shining sponge, etc.”
