The hotel roof area has been recently enhanced, with a roof top pool, bar, restaurant, and separate relaxing areas. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food and drink are good with reasonable prices. It is excellently located for central Madrid, much of which can be reached on foot, plus the Metro stations are very handily placed for this...

Selected this hotel from Trip Advisor ratings for a two night stay after our Camino walk. The location on Grand Via is excellent and adjacent to lots of restaurants and shopping. Everyone we encountered during check in was very efficient, ourselves and luggage were in the room 5 minutes after entering the front door. Rooms are decorated elegantly. They definitely...

Nice hotel with great location in Madrid. Rooftop bar and pool with million dollar view. Worth it to just go up at sunset if nothing else. Rooms were mediocre and small. With tiny flat screen tv. Bar area and staff very nice

Friendly staff and convenient location ... close or very close to three metro stations / lines Room clean and serviced each day. Excellent sun deck on top of hotel which could be used during the day or in the evening to enjoy the setting sun while drinking cocktails.

Good location for tourist in Madrid! It's in the heart of Gran Via and is just a stone throw away from the shopping areas in Madrid! However, since its in the main road, expect the room to be a bit noisy and dusty. If you're visiting Madrid and you're main goal is to shop and explore the tourist sights, this...

Booked this hotel solely for its infrastructure: swimming pool and sauna, otherwise could have booked a cheaper one. When booking asked a clear question about the availability of the above facilities. The answer was "from the 1st of May". Nothing is available: the swimming pool is being repaired, the sauna is closed because of the public holidays. The staff never...

First, the staff is very rude and not at all helpful. They claim it is a non smoking but when I complained about the smoking in the adjacent room they basically said they would do nothing. The hotel is shabby and smells of smoke. Pass on this hotel

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
