A bit disappointed with the room size and felt the upgrade (The Level) at 55 Euros did not represent value for money. Breakfast was good but queued for 15 minutes to get fried eggs. A long way from the railway station.

Well located and good value. Comfy beds and a decent bathroom. The air conditioning in the room was the only let down as it was too warm. We didn't arrive until 1am and then left early the next day to stay at Melia ME Hotel so we didn't mention it to the Princessa staff.

Can't say enough about how good this place was. Staff was warm and welcoming, there is a Metro station (Ventura Rodriguez) literally steps away, and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The upgrades this hotel had just a few years ago have made all the difference and I highly recommend it to anyone going to Madrid. I would certainly...

Although the hotel is close to everything it's also in a quiet reserved street. Just few steps from a metro station. Rooms are also very well designed and equipped. Breakfast has everything you may want. It's a quite chaotic (I have to say). Too many people with not enough staff. But the quality and variety of foods are great. We...

Spent 10 days at the Melia Madrid Princesa for business meetings. The hotel is located near the Plaza Espana and its restaurants and shops. The more Spanish-style restaurants are a bit further to walk to. The rooms are quite spacious and possess all amenities required. North American visitors will not feel out of place too much while experiencing European standards...

It would be hard to fault this hotel. The property is very, very nice. The staff could not be more helpful, and the rooms are first rate, with all the facilities one could want. Very highly recommended! Great location. Only a 5 minute walk from local bars, and..... There is a MacDonalds and a Burger King in the same area...

I have stayed at the Melia Madrid Princesa multiple times in recent years, and it has always been a great stay. Professional and friendly staff. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Excelkent food and service at BarUNO. Fast and reliable internet access. The only problem is that often enough it is sold-out

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.

“Maybe you should consider providing a rubber mat or something to use in the bath for use when taking a shower especially for old people as the strips in the bath are not adequate and makes one feel unsafe”

“Rooms were on the smaller side. The shower glass door did not stay in place and hence water splashed during shower. The room was too warm and the lowest temp was 19C. We had to open windows by then we could hear the street sounds. ”
