Located in the center of the city. Too noisy due to remodelation works in the street (hope these will be finished soon). A tiny comfortable room. TV out of order. Only one hands towel for 2 persons. The owner is a polite person, but absent all the day. Not bad on the whole.

We stayed a night, hostel was clean and tidy and somehow the interiors were artistic. The ceiling were not that high, there was some cozy sofas near the reception. From the Airport we took a bus and had to walk a few blocks and into a narrow street (lucky we had our offline maps installed) Overall it was a good...

This hotel occupies 1 floor in a building that also seems to house private residences. The first time you get to the hotel, you have to buzz in, climb up wooden staircase (some steps are uneven so be careful) and go through another door to the small reception area. I don't think there is an elevator. The reception area looks...

Hostel is located in the very center of Madrid, short driving distance from an airport and walkable from Atocha rail station. Our room has a window facing an inner yard, located on a first floor, small, clean and really silent (that's what we'd ask before arrival). The only sound you could hear was a water flow down the pipes. So,...

It is definitely a hostel none of the comforts of a hotel - no soap and shampoo, no breakfast, but for the price and location it is a good find. It was clean, if you discount the odd bit of black mould in the shower, and comfortable.

Very well located in old city center in an old residential building. Staff polite, not very good English speakers but good enough to communicate basics. Some rooms have windows, some don't. Quite small. Clean. WiFi is good. Good price for location.

Ideal location very near the Prado and Thyssen. (Right around corner from swanky Westin) Extremely clean, quiet, extremely comfortable mattress, excellent shower, even real art work on the room's walls.

Had one of the rooms overlooking the street. Not too noisy even with the balcony door slightly ajar. (Could have door closed and use room fan or air con if street noise bothers you) Room was clean, bed (two singles pushed together) was very comfortable and really good hot shower in the bathroom. The main attraction is the location, it's...

Clean and comfortable if pretty basic. The front desk was helpful, especially the older gentleman. Central to everything; never had to use transit to get around the area. Within walking distance to anything we wanted to see. The only thing we would have liked to have was coffee in the room or at least in the lobby

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
