I have spent there 1 night only. I had a room with small balcony facing to the inner square where there was a gallery and some restaurants. That was amazing in the evening to simply listen Spanish music and vibe of city. Internet was slow. Room was big with plain facilities. Style quite old but satisfactory. It is just 2...

Travelling with a large group of teenagers, this hotel was ideal. It was centrally located with a metro stop right outside the door. The staff were excellent - helpful when any of our group had a problem and always patient! There are a lot of people begging outside the hotel and some pickpockets but the hotel always kept a watchful...

I stayed in the Mediodia hotel for 6 days recently and I must say it was beyond my expectation. My room was large (and clean) with a small balcony, unfortunately, view was to Reina Sofia Museum, but it was fine since I was out during the day. It was nice, however, to sit at the fresh air with a laptop...

I've recently returned from a short stay at the Hotel Mediodia and would thoroughly recommend it. Its really easy to find from Atocha train station whether you're arriving into that station or getting the Airport Express bus -it's directly across from the station with the name of the hotel lit up on the roof. Right next door to the Reina...

when there are too many people trying to use the internet at the same time, it becomes extremely slow. But the location is good. the view from the terrace is great. Even it is near to the train station, it is much more safe than what i expected. 无线网络不太好用,总的来说性价比还可以。

The location is perfect! You have a major train station across the road, tourist attractions within walking distance and great food options as well! The only things that let this hotel down are the noise levels from within the hotel and the shower being very messy. All through the night we heard people moving around the hotel and with the...

Great location to Atocha Station and a number of Madrid's tourist sights. Rooms are fairly basic and may smell of smoke. Ask for a room on the upper levels and facing away from the street to minimise the noise. Staff were kind enough to store our bags while we toured southern Spain.

The Hotel was in a great location and had great views from the rear and front of the hotel and the staff were very nice. The beds were not as great as i would have expected but still could sleep comfortably I would recommend them to change their covers as not very comfy. As I do like a cup of...

Well.. this has to be one of the most conveniently situated hotels in Madrid. Some of the prime (and truly enjoyable) museums are very much close by.. and being in Atrocha (which is very close to La Latina region) you are staying at a place which is relatively more calm than La Latina but still very near the action. The...

We stayed here for three nights with a school party of 24 students. Receptionists were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and modern. Some were slightly cramped for 4 people. Breakfast was excellent with fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and pastries - no complaints from any of the students. Would definitely stay again.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
