A very good four star hotel in Madrid with a fantastic location that is just 5 mins walk to the Plaza Mayor square. I ordered a room with street view and it was spacious, clean and more importantly comfortable beds and pillows. They have an afternoon team session with complimentary tapas and non alcoholic drinks at the lobby from 5-8pm....

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 29 December 2016

We stayed for a day from 19th till 20th December 2016. A lovely hotel in an old building. The sitting area in the courtyard was quite unique. People at the reception were very welcoming. They checked us in early which was of great convenience. The hotel has lifts and in addition a grand staircase reminiscent of the history of the...

Stayed for 4 days doing the tourist thing. This place was very comfortable, with large (for Europe) rooms. Easy walking access to museums, shops, transportation. Friendly staff with excellent English. Breakfast was excellent, but if you are interested in saving money, there are dozens of places for a coffee and a croissant a few steps away.

Hotel is clean. Only draw back you have either heat or cold in the room. In winter the heat is on all the...

We stayed in a family room, which we liked. The room was not particularly spacious but it served our needs during the stay in Madrid. The room was well cleaned too. However, a few aspects of the stay in this property did not meet our expectations. The first one was the breakfast in the hotel - choice of food was...

We came to see real madrid play and had some wonderfull days at the hotel. We would like to come again. Great service and really nice staff, and the restaurant was clean and quick to make orders. The room was nice and heading to the street, but no noise

I have just spent a long weekend staying in the hotel. I cannot find a single negative thing to say about it. The staff are friendly, polite and couldn´t do enough for us whether they were in the bar, restaurant or reception. The rooms were spacious, clean as were the bathrooms.

Great location and great rooms. I was upgraded, so may have had a particularly nice room, but it was spacious and spotless. The location is close to all the sites in the centre of the city. The staff were friendly and efficient. My only complaint was that the bar closed early so that I could not relax when I returned...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
