The hostel is located in the best neighborhood in Madrid. Is so close to the Puerta de Sol, the Retiro Park and the Museum Art Reina Sofia. This neighborhood called Barrio de las letras and it is beautiful, where shops, bars and everything have a unique art style. Is very quiet and still in the heart of Madrid. The staff...

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Christmas holidays. The hostel is well located, near the metro and easy to reach the tourist places in the city by walk. The staff was always there and very friendly. The room was quite clean as well as the bathroom. You also have a locker to put your stuffs, which I find...

Spent one night in an 8-bed dorm. The bed was comfy enough, the lockers were surprisingly large, the wifi was excellent, and the staff was very hospitable. Shout out to Xavier who was at the reception in the morning. Thanks for the ciggy

I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night so aware that my experience may be a little bias here. However, I found for the price that this hostel was not good value for money in comparison to other hostels I've stayed in. It's not particularly clean, needs a lick of paint, and there's no where to get changed after...

Good atmosphere, but very poor sleep quality. The location is almost perfect, so the staff! The door's lockers must be changed, very difficult to open your doors. They offer a free sangria every night at 9:30 pm.

Very good service and very central. They answer the phone at any hour. We had a great breakfast although the kitchen was small. They have group activities for the hosts. Nice decoration and very nice personal.

The location is very good. very central. The rooms are also quite comfortable and u have enough space in the rooms. there are also lockers in your room available. The toilets are seperated from the showers, what is very very good. Unfortunately u have to give 10 euros deposit for ur keycard. But the rest is very good

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Posada de Huertas is in an ideal location in central Madrid, situated between the museums and the main shopping and nightlife district. Hostelworld guests have told us 'the location is fantastic; you can walk around to all the attractions if you want' and 'you can get to the heart of all nightlife in Sol in less than 10 minutes' from here. We like that the hostel has events happening nearly every day, with highly-praised entertaining and informative free walking tours and 'enough good common areas and activities to help you get to know Madrid' ... more   less
