The bed was good. Bathroom was okay. The room had a strange smell, but was clean. There was a good breakfast included. Internet is okay, but does nor work so well in the room (second floor). I would come back.

Avoid at all cost!!!! I went there on Saturday! It took the receptionist an hour to check me in! No this is not an exaggeration a whole hour she clearly had no clue what she was doing! And in between she was texting! I asked to join the tapas tour and she didn't know where to meet or anything! I...

I just checked in today and guaranteed a rate for a 5 night stay. Man I wish I didn't. The staff was 1 person. She was unorganized, slow, and not very helpful or frirndly. The place is dingy and drafty. The common room is small, cold, and dirty. The blankets are shabby and look like they were collected at a...

Hostel located is city centre near by Gran Via, underground station Callao. Lovely place to see Madrid's historical treasure by walk. Stuff was kind and helpful. Rooms was clean but too tiny for 6 persons. Price is good. Breakfast was really common: bread, butter, jam, milk. Where is ham, sausage? What's a pity. Quality of wifi :( After all day...

Starting with the people at reception, who clearly didn't care about providing a good customer service, that immediately gave me a bad impression on the hostel. On the first night I was bitten by bedbugs and the only thing that I was offered was fresh sheet. Had to share my friend's bed to get some sleep. What really bothered me...

I have been travelling solo and staying in hostels for the past 5 years. I have NEVER felt uneasy or unsafe in any hostel before until I came to this one! It is horrible. It is dirty, grubby and unwelcoming. It is not a backpackers hostel it is more like a hostel for the homeless. There was a worrying amount...

The room was ok (6 beds bedroom with bathroom), maybe a little too small for 6 beds. The bathroom was relatively clean. The wi-fi was only available in the lobby which was a little annoying. Breakfast was fair, not very great choice but you could eat basically as much as you wanted.

No frills. Poor WiFi. Staff was very friendly. Security could be better. A guy crashed in a bed in my room in the early hours. I stayed in a 6 bed room with bathroom. Bed was ok. Some room mates were a little smelly. Lol. It was cheap and good location. 5 min walk from porta del sol. I'd stay...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
