We have just had 5 nights here over New Year and it has been the best experience. Our room was a good size, comfy bed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order in various ways together with the usual bread, cheeses, fruit, cereals etc. The staff are fantastic and that's what makes this hotel. Everyone...

I absolutely loved this hotel. The location was amazing and the staff was superb. Alex was so great with suggestions on dining and places to explore! We had a nice room with a hot tub and city view. We had a great view of the whole city. The rooftop bar is also very nice. I definitely recommend this hotel!

I stayed here with my mom for Christmas and we had a great time. The hotel is conveniently located one block from the gran via metro stop and right on the gran via itself, so you have access to endless shopping, dining, and entertainment. Close to all the big must-dos in Madrid. Our room had a balcony overlooking the side...

We spent two nights at this hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The check-in staff was very welcoming when we arrived. The room is quite large and very clean. We will be staying here on our next trip to Madrid.

We had a very good experience at this hotel. Location is great and reception staff were very helpful. Good ambience too. The room was very spacious and the small balcony overlooking the main granvia street gave it a typical European ambience. The only thing is they had no tea/ coffee provided in the room and the room service menu should...

Booked this hotel for a meeting and was pleasantly surprised. Fantastic location in the centre of everything--on Gran Via and 5 min from Sol. The meeting rooms overlook Gran via on the first floor and have floor to ceiling windows. It can be a bit noisy in daytime with traffic. The service here is just excellent. Stayed separate from meeting...

Stayed for four nights in this pleasant hotel. The room was well appointed (upgraded) and included coffee machine, king size bed and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided a good choice and we had a good meal one evening in the bar. The only drawback was the low lighting in the room and public areas.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
