Best wishes from Madrid,
My husband and I travel quite a bit so we have stayed in a variety of accommodations. Cleanliness is first on our list as well as a good location. Novotel gets high marks in these areas. Breakfast was also very nice but biggest praise goes...More

Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of
opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.

We were there until last Saturday and spent 6 days at Novotel and I didn't see a pool or gym! Towards the end of our stay, my daughter then mentioned if I knew there was a gym assigned to the hotel and I said no. Apparently she overheard someone talking about it in Spanish! The pool or gym is not on the hotel grounds so I'm assuming they have an arrangement with a nearby provider.
