We had stayed at 2 different AC Marriott Hotels while in Spain. Both had exceeded our expectations. This property however was definitely a step above the other two. A mix of classic architecture with contemporary features

AC hotels are not od the similar level at all, and I always get confused. The Palacio del retiro , being an Autograph property, is a nice hotel. I like the cimbination of modest cintemporary finishing and old classes building. Executive Suit 311 is very...More
The only bad thing about our visit is that we only stayed one night. This exquisite hotel was once a large home in Madrid which was converted to a hotel. You get the feel of the old mansion with large, well decorated and appointed rooms....More
We stayed at the AC Palacio del Retiro from June 30th to July 5th 2017 on vacation and our experience was superb. The building is an old "palacete" located across the street from Parque del Retiro. The building maintains its old school charm while it...More
We traveled to Madrid in April and it was purely by chance that we picked this hotel to stay in, and what a pick it was! From the minute we checked in it was the highest standards of customer service. As we arrived early we...More

Paseo del Prado
Also Known As
Ac Palacio Del Retiro, Autograph Collection Hotel Madrid ,
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de
Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.

No, it's horrible. Do not bother. There have to be other properties that'll work better for you. We are so upset! We arrived yesterday- wifi is horrid, 2 mini bottles of comp water ( but none the rest of our 3 nite stay!) , no club level, horrid TV connection-(freezing in and out on BBC etc, ) tiny small room next to elevator and on the street on 1st floor( forget our higher room level request) , no b'fast except a continental ( but NOT a full b'fast like most other places). You have to go and request a special key for the in room safe , why didn't check in tell you this? Tiny elevator, and it was next to our room! (Weren't we happy!!!!!! Ugh. ) Noise all the time. No clock in the rooms, we are platinum and gold, we have stayed at most of the European Marriotts, as well as so many in Asia. We cannot even tell you how miserable our stay was. 2 nd time in Madrid- won't EVER stay here again. The BEST thing about this property is JUAN CARLOS! He is a piece of joy, works like magic, happiest of smiles and wants to make things the best for his clients. He should be the front desk checking person- fire those girls that are supposed to do their job. Horrid attitude.!!! We loved him!
