Nice location, friendly staff, good size room. Just what you need for a weekend in Madrid, walkable to most places of interest, great restaurants around the back streets of Gran via, easy access to the airport with the metro. We didn't try the breakfast so cannot comment. The only downside was the rennovation works going on in the reception. Would...

After an extensive search, we found this hotel which turned out to be perfect for our trip! It wasn't pricey at all, the location was excelent: a few feet away from la Gran Via, Madrid's main avenue, walking distance from great restorants, bars and shops. Also, the room was comfortable and clean, the staff was super nice and helpful, and...

The room was clean and the receptionists were all very nice! especially carolina and elias cohen who also speaks hebrew (for those of you that are israeli ;))! They are both very very sweet and took in concern...

This was a third petit palace hotel during the same 4 days staying in Madrid as the previous hotels from the same chain were old, dirty and things wouldn't work. The family room was spacious and everything was clean. Breakfast was good but I had to keep asking for fruit that they run out. Very friendly staff and helpful. Eduardo...

Stayed here for a 3 night break with friends. Brilliant location; central to all the main tourist sights and the fantastic shopping opportunities. Felt safe walking back at night as it is just off the Grand Via. We arrived early on the first day and were allowed to check in at 11am which allowed us to get started exploring the...

Ok, the negatives first. Wifi is erratic at times and there are some (very) minor issues with the rooms. Shower showing some signs of wear and tear, in particular the shower base (mould). TV wasn't working either but it didn't concern me. A bar would be great for a night cap but there is a lack of ground floor space...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
