False advertising: Their website is not truthful--every room does not come with a bathroom. In addition, some rooms have pull-out sofa beds instead of real beds. Like room 821. Front desk not helpful: I showed them my reservation that said private room with bath. They somehow have private room shared bath (please see above) in their database. The place is...

If you don´t want to spend a lot and stay right in the center it´s absolutely great. The hostel is at the 3rd floor (Great Staircase) of an antic building, right on Atocha Street, walking distance to Sol - aprox 5 minutes. The rooms are clean, simple but nice decorated, the bathroom was a little small, but absolutely ok (hairdryer...

If you need to spend one or two nights max. This is the place. Located centrally in Madrid, Apartment Atocha is surround by excellent transport links including Pacífico Metro Station, which is a 1-minute walk away. The air-conditioned apartment provides free WiFi. "Period travelled December 2015"

This hostal is located on the calle Atocha, not far from Prado and Puerta del Sol both. There are many nice restaurants around. Metro station is about 100m and the main railway station Atocha is about 1km. So, the location is truly perfect! The very hostal is on the 3rd floor of the building, rooms are fine, they even have...

Nice hostal, small room and bathroom but convenient. Since Madrid has a lot to offer, i was merely in my room to sleep. Perfect location, near to several metrostations, plaza mayor, the museums and shops and restaurants.

You can be a little confused, because in the same building are 2 or 3 hostals. We arrived early in the moring and the room was not available, but we stayed in the lobby, we had the oportunity to cherge our phones. At 10.00 they gave us the room. The room was clean and cosy. A little bit darker, because...

Also known as the Hostal Martin Atocha, but not to be confused with the Hostal Atocha next door. Centrally located, practical, clean rooms, modern bathroom. Good enough. Excellent value for central Madrid. Breakfast is light! (a coffee and a croissant at the bakery across the road)

Great place and cheap - walking distance of everything you need and want to see in Madrid! Rooms cleaned daily and staff very helpful with good service - asked for extra pillows and were happy to oblige. Manned 24hours a day so even if you come back on the early hours of the morning they are there to buzz you...

I stayed in a single room with bathroom. It's simple but very clean and comfortable. I felt safe because the access is controlled and monitored. They don't use electronic key, that limit the possibilities of access to your room. Great location, in the middle of the principal tourist points of Madrid. There are markets, restaurants and subway close to the...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
