We really enjoyed staying here. It is in walking distance of lots of great sights an restaurants. We had a family suite in the third floor for 4 of us. Although it was a bit small it was quite adequate. The bathroom was nice and spacious and had a double sink.

Well located. Hotel only 3 mins away from metro. The rooms are quite small but great quality. Staff very helpful and nice. Breakfast amazing quality. On the bad side not a lot of English channels unless you like news and the room cleaning was a big let down.

Well located- 5 mins from Opera metro. Supermarket is directly across from the hotel. Room was nice size and high quality. On the negative side- no English language channels (unless you want to watch news) and housekeeping was a let down. Fernando on reception was very helpful

We stayed here at the end of our three-week trip. It was the least expensive hotel by far (we stayed in six) but it's the one we liked best! The rooms are small but modern and very clean. The reception is top-notch! The location is great, too, right by the Opera, quiet area, within walking distance of Puerta Del Sol...

Excellent location, walking distance to the Palace, the 2 main squares and the metro is just at the end of the street. The staff were friendly and helpful and had very good English. Bathrooms are beautiful but the rooms are pretty small - I would not have wanted to have to share mine with anyone - 2 very small single...

Dear Emma C, thanks for your comment, we regret that the room was not entirely to his liking. We remember that in Hotel Meninas we have different types of rooms with different sizes, because it is a hotel in the historic center of Madrid and in a protected building. We appreciate your time and hope to see you soon at...

The staff are very nice, and help us with everything. the room is beautiful and clean, the hotel is closed to the gran via and the other tourist attraction like the palace. Very recommended!!! We did all in walking. Easy to get from the airport and to the airport.

Two friends recommended this small hotel and it did not disappoint. We stayed with our six year old grandson In a junior suite so he had his own pullout couch and Spanish cartoons. We ate the generous hot breakfast that came with the very reasonable price of the hotel. The front desk helped us find a public swimming pool, a...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is only moments away from the Royal Palace, and a few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol. Our room was very small whereas the bathroom was of a good size. Pretty, contemporary style. Highly recommend this place for a stay in Madrid.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. We had booked the hotel through a travel broker that unfortunately had gone bankrupt just before we checked-in, although we were not aware of this until the hotel informed us. It seemed that the hotel had not been paid by the broker and accordingly we had to pay. This of course was...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
