Stay there if you visit Madrid..You will find it hard to get a hotel in such a good location and with such helpful and friendly staff. Visit Cafe and Te just down the road, good food and top class staff and amazing drinks

My favourite place to stay in Madrid is the sophisticated, high street shopping, Salamanca area. Located at Goya street lies this first choice hotel for people that want to get a very comfortable and modernized room while keeping a manageable budget. The beds are large and very comfortable, the rooms is big enough and with a high quality TV, good...

I stayed in this hotel from 12-14/3/17 and this is my 3rd times staying in this hotel. It is located in the heart of Madrid, Zara shop is next door, so it's good for the shoppers. The hotel is not big but the room is OK, clean and the price was reasonable. I cannot recommend the breakfast because we booked...

I stayed at this hotel a couple weeks ago, when I had to travel to Madrid on business. This is a rather old property, needing renovation, but I was prepared for that. What I was not prepared was for the lack of hot water in the room. When I called the concierge complaining about it, I was told that It...

We stayed at the hotel because of its location and the Catalonia hotel brand which is a good guarantee for a good, comfortable stay. Comfortable hotel in Salamanca District very close to the metro - Velasquez. Very Good shopping zone. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and a very good breakfast. Not a luxurious stay but smart. Standard rooms overlooking the back of the building.

The Catalonia Goya offers goid accomodation close to the center of Madrid. However, the bar is rather disappointing, as numerous bars are within walking distance, this is not too much of a problem for an enjoyable stay.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
