Lovely room, furniture, bed & bathroom, we had 3 Juliet balconies overlooking the bustling cobbled streets. The internal decor was nice including a fabulous staircase. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will return possibly next year.

We were travelling in the group of 6 people (grand parents had double room and we had the family room for 4). Both rooms were clean, good beds and bathrooms. Double room had view to street, family room did not have view at all (very small inner coart). Service was EXCELLENT throughout our stay from reception to breakfast room and...

Excellent hotel in the centre of Madrid, just about walking distance from all the major attractions and in a pedestrian area full of bars, restaurants and boutiques. The staff, especially Esther, couldn't have been more helpful, anything one asked was responded with immediate attention, tickets, tourist info etc.etc. Our room was as described, a small double, but more than adequate...

Loved the clean tidy rooms. Location was the best feature of this hotel. Service was adequate. Breakfast was yummy... spinach and beet juice....nice touch!!! Will stay here again. Negative: Noisy until 3 am, then again at 5 am, little sleep. Wasn't informed of Easter procession or times and location (whole area was blocked). I couldn't get back to the hotel...

I had a beautiful room with 3 balconies overlooking a lively intersection. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The location was perfect, situated between Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. You can walk to almost anyplace of interest in central Madrid. I cannot imagine a better hotel. It is picturesque yet functional. Absolutely wonderful.

This is an ideally placed hotel for exploring Madrid. It is right in the centre, is very comfortable (especially the mattresses) and full of character. The hotel is a picture from the outside and cleverly converted inside. It can be a bit noisy from the outside so if you like more peace you might have to move out from this...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
