Stayed here for an anniversary weekend! We wanted to stay in the heart of Madrid so picked this Hotel! Location could not be faulted for the price which was much cheaper than others in the area! The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly! We stayed B&B which was handy but breakfast was a bit underwhelming but was sufficient... More

I used this hotel for a business trip. It is very central (just off the Gran Via, Madrid's main street), has restaurants, banks and other convenient things around, and the staff are very friendly. It's not that fancy, but it's functional. I would recommend for a business trip in the city.

The hotel is perfectly situated, just a short walk from major tourist sites, bars, restaurants & shopping. The staff were helpful, friendly and charming. The rooms are clean but I would say approaching the need for refurbishment. I would stay here again. However there appears to be a problem with late night drinking in the street outside. We paid extra... More

It was my second time in Spain and first time in Madrid so decided to go with the Petit Palace chain of hotels. I went with the Tres Cruces location because of its convenience. The hotel itself is not big as it has only 4 floors. The rooms are quite sizeable which was fairly comfortable. However, the double beds were... More

We only had 1 night in Madrid, and this hotel was perfect! The location is so close to Puerta del Sol, which connects you to everywhere else! The breakfast was ready really early, which allowed us to maximize our 1 day in the hotel. The front desk was also very helpful (Ms. Jimenez)! When we arrived, she provided us all... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
