We stayed here for three nights in April for a city break. Staff were very friendly, hotel was extremely clean and quiet at night. Hotel is very near Santo Domingo metro so easy to get to from the airport - about 40 minutes. Staff found out it was my birthday and I received a beautiful tray of cakes and sweets...

The location is very convenient, at a walking distance to many museums and less than 1 minute from the Santo Domingo Metro station. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the internet (free) is quite fast.

Nice hotel, great breakfast. Upgraded to an attic room however it was unbelievably hot due to central heating 😐 great shower and nice and quiet. Double bed was really comfy. Downside as a lot of hotels it didn't have hospitality tray in room.

The hotel was nice and clean. The stuff were pleasent and always tried to help. We also had breakfests and it was fresh and very tasty. In the lobby there's a coffee machine free to use. It's location is great: 100 steps from the Gran via (main street) and from couple of main metro stations, supermarket and variety of restaurants....

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
