Whenever you want to sleep in a hotel, don't try this at the Eden Paraiso Neptuno in Madrid. They have rooms at the street side of the Calle Montrera, close to Puerta del sol, with single glass. Street noise in this traffic free street means talking, shouting, and police cars with horns all night till 6.30. Then at once, the...

This hotel has a prefect location keeping in mind it is right at the spot. Friendly staff BUT: Rooms are old and they need a little bit of "attention". Anyway, after searching the area, this hotel is a prefect choice.

Good hotel, a bit noisy from room to room. Good air conditioning. Friendly staff. Very very clean. Bad breakfast! not value for money... just go outside and grab a breakfast at any coffee-shop: it's better and cheaper! Excellent location.

Feels worse than a hostel but priced like a hotel. We reserved a room here while in Madrid with our teenage daughter. We had a very difficult time locating the hotel then when we did find it we were discusted at the way the street felt. Prostitutes line the whole street every couple of steps (which seems odd since the...

...You probably should not be paying the price of a hotel! I am very surprised by all of the positive reviews. Walking in to the reception area I thought maybe the hotel was under renovation, but it appeared not to be after all. There was hair in the bed. There was hair in the shower. The AC would not cool...

I had a wonderful stay at Eden Paraiso Neptuno. I had booked a single room, but was kindly upgraded to a room overlooking the street with a balcony (which is what I had wished for). I didn't have breakfast in the hotel, so I can't coment on that...but I can say that the staff was always helpful and with a...

I booked this hotel for a short break in Madrid after reading reviews on trip advisor and I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted very warmly by the receptionist and provided with suggestions of suitable restaurants in the surrounding area. My room was interior with no view but also very quiet so could sleep soundly! It was spotlessly clean with a...

We stayed in Eden Paraiso Neptuno in Madrid for one night. The hotel is 1 min away from the nearest metro station and neraby the hotel were supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The location of hotel is the best, because it is right on the shopping street in central Madrid. It was great! The staff was helpful and was english speaking....

The location is very central. Close to the metro and walkable to the Atocha train station. The rooms are new and clean. Our room had AC. The hotel let us check in early without any issue. Giving it a 3 star because the walls are thin. We stayed here 4 nights and one night we had a hard time sleeping...

I had a triple room in this hotel, I found it a compact and viable option, the room was clean and air-conditioned. Most importantly it's location just of the main square (SOL) made it easy to find and easy to explore Madrid. Free Wi Fi if you went and sat on the first floor dining area and the staff were...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
