This is our second trip to this hotel. We were given a lovely room with a huge balcony and seperate sitting area which was great as we brought our bikes with us and they were stored on the balcony the whole week. The staff are really friendly and helpful and there is always plenty to eat! The pool is execellent. There is a bus stop outside the hotel for trips around and about (reception were very helpful on this). The trip was topped off when we asked about checking out, we had to leave before breakfast, the reception arranged for us to have a picnic to take with on the flight (and it was a real feast). Thanks to the AR Roca Esmeralda for a great week. We will be back.
My wife and I spent a week here in early November 2022. For us it was just a perfect end of year break. The beach is literally 50 metres from the front door of the hotel and, as a blue flag beach, is kept immaculately clean. The hotel is also immaculately clean, the staff are fantastic, from front of house to house keeping, nothing is too much trouble and even with my limited Spanish, communication is no trouble. The restaurant is superb, the buffet meals are absolutely 1st class, the selection of food is amazing, plentiful and delicious. There are 2 supermarkets within 200 metres walk, Consum and Mercadona, the variety from UK supermarkets is like night and day, produce you would not belive. The wee Tourist train stops outside the hotel and takes you on a fabulous trip round Calpe, visiting the old Port and Plaza Major and only 4 Euros for a day round trip. Would I recommend Ar Roca Esmarelda for a holiday destination? YES, I absolutely would for anyone looking for a leisurely, stress free break, so much so that we are booked to return in late April. Needless to say, we are looking forward so much to our return.…
Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff. Clean throughout. Food lovely. Spa very nice clean staff all great. Amazing massage by Sara. Pool good large indoor heated too. Outside area very nice too. Lots of things to do still even in January. Beach beautiful views are stunning all walking distance as is 2 large supermarkets. I would of liked area around the pool to watch my son (few sunbeds to relax on) Decor in our room dated but clean and well presented (didn't bother us) Highly recommended and would return. Thank Esmeralda Rock
I stayed in this hotel in early December 2022, booked as part of a package holiday. I was given a room on the 7th floor which included a bathroom, bedroom, lounge area and large terrace. The room was spotlessly clean, included a fridge and plenty of storage space. Previous comments that the rooms look a little dated are probably fair, but that did not in any way spoil my enjoyment of the room or the holiday. Staff at check-in were fantastic, polite, patient and very willing to help. In fact, every member of staff I encountered from bar to cleaning staff were polite and helpful. Food buffet style, although I booked half-board, I did only eat dinner there once - I much prefer table service at a restaurant. The food appeared to be good both at breakfast and the one dinner with meat, fish and vegetarian options, starters and a dessert island. The hotel did appear to be appealing to a Spanish market, which added to the authenticity of experience and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I can't wait to return again next year!…
Outstanding and im fussy! Huge thanks t Christine on reception for remembering me! Dining room staff who work extremely efficiently. Breakfast is plentiful and a good variety f vegetables. Spa staff also fablous with all facilities working easily and efficiently in there!
I had a massage here tonight at the Spa with Sara. Thank you so much Sara I feel wonderful. The treatment was 5 star.. All the tension and stress has gone. I am staying here for a month at The Esmeralda and I have booked more appointments with Sara until I go home. Anyone who comes to stay in Calpe I would highly recommend this therapist to you. Thank you again Sara
This hotel is very tired and in need of a refurb, it is away from the main town about three quarters of an hour walk but a taxi is only about 8 euros, we only stayed for bed and breakfast but the breakfast was cold and greasy, we wouldn’t return to this hotel as there are cheaper and better hotels nearer the old town.
The hotel is excellently located adjacent to the beach. The staff are very obliging and helpful especially in the reception area. Our stay was very enjoyable and i would certainly recommend this venue.
This hotel is very shabby and basic. Rooms have old furniture that looks like its been dug out of a second hand charity shop. Bedding is cheap and scruffy, like its been dug out of a charity shop. . No complimentary water in the room. No kettle or complimentary tea and coffee. Terrible view over a car park. Patio doors don't lock. Bathroom has the old 70's type olive green fixtures. Shower is only over the bath with a tatty old shower curtain. Wouldn't ever stay here again, 8 days was was too long!
I booked a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage as I was in a lot of pain and couldn't raise my arm Judit was much masseuse, and she was very professional. It was so relaxing and it eased all the pain I was in. I would recommend to anyone who is wanting pampered or feeling a little stiff as I felt glorious after. Thank you.
