You've heard of 'shabby chic', well this place was just shabby. We stayed in an en-suite double room for three nights. While the central location was great, the small shower and tired furniture soon started to wear thin. For the price we paid (approx. 14euros per night each) I suppose we got what we paid for!

I booked en suite room, but got room with shower in corridor. Should have really argue will receptionist to have what I was paying for. Very disappointed. Bad attitude. Rooms are ok in general. Location is perfect is in center and easy to find, its quite as well! It's cheap and clean, but very poor service!

Was travelling through Valencia and decided to stay for a day. Booked a room for 1 night. The room was terrible. It smelled really bad. Like moist garbage. The room was filled with bugs and though I did get a few hours sleep, I discovered that I had over 7 mosquito bites. It was very uncomfortable and I was digusted....

Low - priced Hostal in the centre in Valencia. Hostal is located near bus stop - Valencia Bus Touristic. Rooms and shared toilet are cleaned.Staff are very friendly. One minus - Hostal hasn't got a lift.

Very well located hostel close to shopping, cathedral and restaurants, pleasant staff. However the air conditioner was broken in the reception and there was no air conditioners in the rooms and it was very hot. Overall I would recommend if the weather was cooler.

Fantastic location not far from train station and nearest underground station from/to airport. We had an ensuite, quite clean and big enough. Wifi works best on the reception desk floor, there is no elevator and mosquitos can come without invitation. If you're unlucky to get noisy neighbours, earplugs may come handy. I would definitely come back.

If it is luxury, spas, heated pools and a gym that you are after this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a cheap, clean place to sleep in the heart of town look no further. I spent about 5 days in this hostel last January and it is so well located that I did not...

Hostal El Cid is conveniently located in the city's historic center and very close to all sorts of public transportation. It is not easily accessible for disabled people, baby/children prams, for those who hate climbing stairs or those that cannot climb stairs. Staff is friendly and gave us lots of tips. I have stayed in two different rooms: one ensuite...

“The lower down the better, as there are many stairs. But I understand that some of the lower rooms may be noisier.”

“We had a room looking to the coutyard. I imagine it could get really hot in the summer, but there was an air conditioning in. There was no noise from the street obviously, but people from the neighbouring rooms could be heard loud and clear. It's not a party hostel, so that was not such a problem.”
