I stayed here last year and feel I ought to leave a review. The hotel has a very light colour scheme in reception which feels very posh, all staff throughout the stay were extremely attentive and always made an effort to say Good Morning / Evening or have conversation, you felt extremely welcome. Check-in was easy and lots of information was provided, the room was spacious and exceptionally clean thanks to the cleaners who always smiled and said hello as we walked past. The main highlight of the hotel was the rooftop pool, the bar staff there were extremely polite and an asset to the hotel making great drinks, sorting towels/beds and keeping the area clean. We had breakfast included in the rate and again the staff serving breakfast were accommodating and were extremely efficient, it is buffet and during to covid you order from the menu but they have managed to make it work extremely well and we looked forward to our breakfast every day! We would like to thank all the staff as we saw how hard you all work, not only individually but as a team to make everyones stay perfect! …
Loved this place. If I ever go back to Sorrento, would definitely stay here. Super clean, very nice staff, excellent breakfast and dinners! Great view from our balcony, loved the roof top bar. Soooo enjoyed our breakfasts outside in the garden!
Really liked this hotel: got an upgrade to a sea view room, with balcony looking out to Bay of Naples, Vesuvius. Well fitted out, clean, good condition, and they were conscientious about covid precautions which was reassuring. Restaurant was great for dinner, good breakfast too, snacks/drinks also good in main pool (good for swimming) and roof top pool (more for lounging). Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location (for Sorrento!), but still not too far to walk to the centre. Museo de Correale (just round the corner) has interesting and varied classical art and gardens, enjoyed this. Lemon farm opposite has tours, this was also interesting to see some of the 'lemon history'
Just returned from what was supposed to be 2 weeks in Sorrento we went with Jet2 who brought us home due to the covid situation, we stayed at the Grand Hotel De La Ville this is an excellent hotel but unfortunately was nearly empty due to the current situation we stayed in room 509 which is an upgraded sea view room the view was fantastic looking at the bay and Vesuvius this is well worth upgrading to, the food was very good but limited on choice you could always ask for something else and they try to do it for you we only did this once and they brought us exactly what we asked for very good. The staff were excellent Lorenzo on the on reception was excellent we mentioned that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room as this was not provided he said he would see what he could do the next day we had all what we had asked for how good is that, Samuele in the restaurant was also excellent very attentive and always having a chat he spoke better English than us he went out of his way to make sure you had a good stay all the staff were good but these 2 stood out. The weather was poor but we will go back when all the current problems are over but will go more mid-year, we will definitely stay in the same hotel it is a short walk from the Piazza Tasso no hills just right. We would mention Jet2 phoned us at 8.48 pm on Thursday 15th to tell us we were coming home on the Sunday 18th our refund for the rest of our holiday came through at 23.56 pm the same day great service.…
We stayed here in last days of September 2020 and the first few days of October 2020. We were upgraded on arrival to Room 509 which gave a stunning view of Capri, the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The location is excellent for walking into town or getting the train to Naples or Pompei. The standard of cleanliness and service is excellent. The staff are superb, every single one of them. The food in the restaurant and from the bar at lunchtime outstanding. Very good wine list with some beautiful local wines. All the staff helped me with my very basic Italian, especially Samuel the Maitre D’Hotel. So lucky to have got away to such a relaxing place during the current COVID situation.
