Nice hotel, great location. It was difficult to find but just keep your eye on a big green door and call the hotel if you need help. Breakfast was a great addition. We parked in the parking garage behind the hotel and paid 23 euros...More
Arriving hot and tired from Positano, we were a bit surprised to ride the cage elevator (1 person and luggage is all that will fit) to the 1st floor lobby. Once we got in the HUGE room with tall ceilings and a modern bathroom, got...More
Located at a centennial building (Palazzo Tocco di Montemiletto, built in 1566), obviously it's a place full of history and who is in search of modern american hotel facilities will be disappointed.
Rooms are well disposed along the property, recently remade, with a lot of...More
You are steps away from Toledo metro station but Naples is quite compact so in 15 minutes you are either at the port one way or the museum the other.
The staff are really friendly & helpful.

Yes there is! but I rarely have used it when I visit in September. I prefer my room be open to the Via Toledo and love the breeze and action that the Via is so famous for. The windows were replaced in the last year so they are pretty much soundproof but I still prefer the balcony open. One night was really hot so I did close the balcony door and was actually cold with the air running and opened it back up again. The people who work here are wonderful! I always stay here every year and love that it still holds the charm that it once did so long ago when it was the home of probably someone famous. When are you going? The weather there isn't all the hot now and doesn't get that way at least until more in June. There are so many things to do there so be sure to check them all out. Cameo factory on the high hill, underground subterrian, Piazza Dante. Eat at Leons and eat outside to get a real taste of Italy. It's also in the swing of things. Via Toledo subway directly under and to the right of hotel for extra trips to Pompii etc. Port of Naples is a 10 min walk to catch boat to Ischia/capri etc. Historical museum a short 10 blocks or so. great food to the left of hotel. walk to second resturant on the side of hotel. This hotel to me is a true Italian feel hotel down to the high ceilings, beautiful painted walls, and what I love the most is the 2cent euro elevator. Just like in the past. The huge doors that open are very interesting too. You will have 2 keys to enter. One opens the smaller door that fits in the huge doors. I would love to show you more pics on the wonderful time we have spent in this hotel and surrounding area, please ask. I have been to Italy many times but this has always been my favorite hotel. No it's not the ritz but if you want the flavor of the past then stay here as long as you can and get to know Naples. If you are a prude that will complain about the little things like not having a luxery br, then stay at one of the american hotels. Keep in touch Helen from Virgina
