Lovely, well appointed hotel and rooms, which would surely earn the title 'boutique'. Great location with friendly knowledgable staff. A small criticism would be the lack of atmosphere generated in the bar area made the beautiful reception and lobby areas feel a little flat
An early arrival at Leon's Place meant our room was not ready, we did have the use of the bathrooms to change and freshen up before our luggage was put into secure storage. Our rooms were ready when we came back from sightseeing.
This was our 3rd time in Rome and first in this hotel. Leon's Place situates in nice and calm location. It is modern and stylish. What you see in the hotel's pictures is what you get.

We booked through Monarch, a budget airline..... however this is not a budget hotel. As soon as you arrive , it impresses. The Reception staff are so polite and helpful. Rooms were clean and modern ( although my wife was disappointed to note, no kettle...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Sorry for just responding now, but actually in my opinion this was an area surrounded by embassies, so safety was not a concern of ours. We felt super safe walking around this area, and there are few restaurants that we noticed were open pretty late within walking distance to the Leon's Place Hotel. Make sure you grab, one or two scoops of the most incredible gelato across the street from Leon's Place -- La Romana Gelateria!
