Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.

This delightful little B&B is an easy walk from Trastevere rail station, where the train arrives from the airport. It is one floor of a rather elegant building, has about 7 comfortable rooms, all painted with superb trompe l'oeil murals, and a friendly little breakfast room

We loved this spotless and charming B & B in a quiet residential neighborhood. Marco and Helena were patient and kind as this was our first stop on a 2 week trip to Italy and we were seriously jet lagged and overwhelmed! We learned the tram system and discovered a wonderful

Here at Marcos B&B you feel welcome. Marco is a great host. At the B&B the staff helped us reserve table at a restaurant and guide us to the tram system. The rooms were clean and decorated beautifully. It's nice to stay in Trastevere, where you can avoid all the tourist traps

Ciao Trisha, I hope you are well :) Yes of course: in the street the parking is available, safe and free of charge, but if you prefer at 50/100 meters from the B&B there 2 "private garage" with convenient prices. What a great plan - I'm sure he'll love whatever you decide! Sorry, we didn't come across a restaurant for what you are looking for, but if you email Marco who runs Trastevere, I am sure he will have good recommendations for you. He has lived in the area a long time and was very helpful on anything we needed to know about. If you want a very casual but delicious pizza spot for another evening, check out my review of La Renella.

Ciao!!! How to arrive here from: FIUMICINO AIRPORT: Take the train FR1 ( € 8,50 per person) for 7 stops until the Trastevere Station. From there, just walk outside and take the street in front of you, the TRASTEVERE STREET, for 250 meters, keeping the left side. We are on the left side, n° 248: Suites Trastevere on the buzz ;) Take care, Marco
