Our room was basic, but it was clean and the bed comfortable. Wi-Fi worked really well, however the lighting in the room was too dim for reading purposes. The manager was helpful and friendly. We paid for breakfast in advance, not realizing it would be in the the café next door. The best thing about Merulana Star is the location,...

The location of this place is excellent. You are walking distance to Coliseum and termini train station. Several restaurant areas as well accessible just by walking, metro stations nearby... No complaints about it. Price was ok, I stayed 5 nights and arranged with booking. The place is not so ok though, very very basic. First of all a deep cleaning...

We have stayed 4 nights. The room was basic and small but it was clean. Also its location is good; close to the main train station (in walking distance) and a metro station, as well as to the Colosseum. Many cafes around for breakfast and a good restaurant just around the corner. The staff was also friendly

After some research on locations of monuments and places to visit, we decided to book merulana star as it seemed very reasonably priced for the location that it was in. The room was around 50 euros per night, which for 2 people was very reasonable! The room was basic but fine, very clean, tidy and big enough, with a small...

It's nicely situated, 7 mins walk to colosseum and 5 min walk to Vittorio Emmanuale Metro station which could get you to stations with major tourists sites without changing lines. One of the local reception guys have limited english, but it is made up with his enthusiasm.

Alessandro, the owner of this hotel, is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He went above and beyond to help my mother and I with our trip. We missed the last train to Milan on our last night in Rome. We had no where to stay, and it seemed like everywhere was booked. Alessandro spent over an...

The hotel I want to review is Merulana Star. It is a cheap, one star hotel, located at first floor of a building in Via Merulana, close both Colosseo area and main railways station, Roma Termini (less than 10 minutes on foot). It is a family-run hotel; the staff is very friendly and reception is 24h open. There are a...

I have stayed in Merulana for two nights in January 2014 and I am really happy I chose this hotel. It was a really good value for money in my eyes. The location is perfect. Couldn't ask for a better one, it is 10 min walk from Termini Train/Bus station and 10 min walk to Coloseum. I admit that one...

We arrived to find out that our reservation did not exist, although we had a confirmation from Hotels.com about it. To make things a bit difficult, the man at the front desk did not speak English, so after some very confusing non-conversations we received our room. However, it was about twice the cost than what we had initially agreed on......
