We decided to visit Roma Sparita because of the amazing reviews of the restaurant's signature dish, cacio e pepe. We booked in advance via the restaurant website. We recommend you do this because when we arrived the waiter had a list of people with bookings and they turned away people who didn't have a reservation. We were seated straight away...

I've heard about Roma Sparita from social media and on my trip to Rome I had to stop by and order their iconic cacio e pepe. It's true, they have the best cacio e pepe in Rome hands down. The restaurant is small and quaint and the service is alright but if you come here you have to order their...

I ate in "Roma Sparita" restaurant during my holidays in Rome. The premises are really nice, typical of Roman stile and the dishes was amazing! I ate the fomou Cacio and pepe and it was the best pasta I ever ate... I took also a "Carciofo alla Giudia" that was really tasty... My friend and I finished the lunch with...

The top can also be reached by food that excels in its simplicity. The cacio e pepe is from another planet. We also likes the carciofini very much. Both a la Romana and deep fried. The personnel is very friendly and makes you feel at home. If you want to eat outside you need a reservation. A must to go...

We walked up at lunch time not knowing the restaurant so there was no preconceived notations. We were asked if we had a reservation. My son said for lunch? Didn't realize this place is on the foodie map. The pasta dishes were fantastic. The waiter took time to answer our questions and gave us a recommendation for a pizza place...

Unbelievable food and unbelievable service. We were in Rome for 12 days and our meal at Roma Sparita was the most delicious. A must have if you're in Rome (Make sure to call ahead to make reservations as the restaurant does tend to fill up).

Best Cacio e Pepe I've ever had, and possibly the best pasta I had on this Italian tour. Very simple, but that's what makes it stand out. The crispy cheese bowl the pasta sits in really takes it to the next level.

I really don't know why they aren't at the number one when you search for the best restaurants in Rome and the best caccio e peppe in Rome!! They have lovely plates: we tasted caccio e peppe pasta, presented in a fancy way -in a fried parmesan basket- and it was de-li-ci-ous!!! We also took a rib eye steak with...

We reserved a wonderful table outside. This family run restaurant is in the heart of Trastevere, a very busy area full of restaurants. The patio is a quiet respite from the tourist traffic. Anthony Bourdain is right you must have the Cacio e Pepe it served its its own bowl. It is so yummy and rich. Make a reservation and enjoy...

The best "Cacio e pepe" ever tasted! Not hard to reach in Lungo Trastevere! Plenty of places but better to call first and make a reservation! Also "vino dalla casa" is worth trying with some appetisers!

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
