We stayed at Althea Inn for 5 days and it couldn't have been a better place to start the day for a sightseeing trip. It is in walking distance (30 min.) to the Colosseo and Trastevere but also has a metro station nearby. The breakfast was excellent and we also got great tips from Alessandro to plan our day. We...

My husband and I recently stayed at Althea Inn during a trip to Rome. Alessandro is a wonderful host and does a great job with the inn. The hotel is located about a mile south of the Colosseum, so it is quite easy to walk to the main parts of the city (and to avoid the costs associated with hotels...

This great B&B is off the beaten path a bit, but very close to public transportation. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the host was amazing. Breakfast was wonderful and the room was very clean and comfortable.

The Althea Inn is in a great location, only a couple of hundred metres from Pyramide metro stop. The building is not the most stylish or modern in Rome and the lift is comically tiny, but the Althea Inn is an excellent place to stay, especially when you consider the relatively cheap price. Our room was clean, spacious and well...

Great room for a very modest price. Furnished very nice with taste, provided with everything you need. The breakfast to the room was a highlight. Didn't expect anything like that. Great location, 3 minutes by foot to the subway station and 7 to the train station, where you can get to the airport. The hospitality is beyond compare, very firndly...

Four of us stayed at the Althea Inn and what a wonderful experience it was. Myself , my husband and two friends stayed for four nights at the end of Oct 16. We both had rooms with a lovely terraced area adjacent to one another. The location and the property itself were amazing. It was very clean and Alessandro couldn't...

This place is lovely. The location is very good, being well connected to the airport, the centre and Trastevere, as well as being within walking distance of Testaccio with its excellent restaurants. Alessandro kindly waited up for us when our flight was late, and was very helpful during our stay. The breakfasts were excellent. The whole place was very clean...

We stayed for 5 nights - just perfect. Location very close to s.paolo/pyramid metro for visiting sights, - it takes 10-15 mins max and just 2 stops from the colloseum. The train station for getting to and from airport is just behind the metro. Taxi's back to the b&b from visiting sights/nights out cost us no more than 10 euros....

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
