Travelled with wife and 2 teenage daughters hotel couldn't be in a better position right on the doorstep of the Vatican 4 min walk, don't worry about what people say about the 25 min walk to the colosseum it's what you see when you walk there that matters it's a fantastic walk very simple and the sites you pass are...

A lovely hotel in an excellent location. Unfortunately despite booking months in advance, the room we were allocated was equivalent to a storeroom. The furniture was chipped and old. The bathroom was very small and the bedroom had no window, just a very narrow door. As a result the room was dark and extremely depressing. It looked like nothing that...

Fabulous rooftop terrace. .possibly the best views in rome. Very nice, polite staff. Lovely breakfast room. Again fabulous views. Only downside was the rooms. They let us change after 1st night as traffic noise but all rooms dated. We would book again just for the rooftop terrace and spent very little time in our room. Very nice area, near Vatican....

We stayed here as it was close to the Vatican primarily but it was central to most things. Great part of town, close to some great restaurants, not a far walk over the river to the ruins and historic tourist spots.

In Love with this boutique style hotel. It has beautiful interior and a terrace with an incredible view. This was our second stay. First one was back in 2006 and LOVE how well this hotel ages. Of course, keep in mind that most European rooms are very small but this one in particular has a little extra needed room. On...

A very well located hotel a couple blocks from the vatican, in a quiet area of Rome. It is comfortable, clean and offers a magnificent view of San Pedro from the restaurant on the top floor. A great option to visit Rome and the Vatican.

We chose this hotel because it's so close to the Vatican, an area of Rome that we love, and because we knew there was a view of the Vatican from the hotel's restaurant. What we didn't realize was that the hotel boasts a two-level bar and patio, with panoramic views of Rome, and yes, the Vatican. We spent every evening...

This is not a 4 star in my view. Scruffy rooms with grossly outdated decor. Not sure if there are newer rooms, in which case this would be a lovely hotel. My average rating is due to my party's three rooms which were awful. The reception looks the part but we found the staff rude and obnoxious. I don't believe...

I booked this hotel based upon the pictures provided on their website... silly me! I should have read some other reviews first. I'm not usually swayed by reviews too much as it's a subjective thing, but I do tend to look at reviews from 2-4 stars as these are usually better then the euphoric 5 star or the anger driven...

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
