The hotel is a super friendly family run hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. The breakfast was great and the dinner we had there was good too. The rooms were a bit older but still comfortable and large by EU standards. The AC even worked which is rare in Italy. The best part...

We stayed for a week at the Hotel Napoleon and it was a wonderful experience! The staff if extremely helpful with information regarding all the sites to see in Rome, and providing maps with directions to each destination. The Colosseum, Palantine Hill, and the Roman Forum is within a 15 minute walk (which helps if you have eaten the gelato...

Franco the concierge was fantastic. He took care of many of the details a tourist does not know. Always warm and friendly. Hotel was clean, and food was very good. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Nice pillows too. No complaints about the hotel or staff in any way. I would highly recommend this hotel and their staff, and...

We stayed in this hotel the first night of our 5 week vacation. We had arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport. Our driver arrived in a nice merc and we were able to be checked-in to our room early. This was greatly appreciated as we had over 20 hours of flying before we arrived in...

Most reviews only brush the surface. The intention of this one is to give a deeper insight, so please forgive any hyperbole. If it’s a bit long winded sorry – what I have to say can’t be said in just a few short words. I'm biased, let's make that clear to begin with. I'm biased because I've stayed at the...

My wife and I just returned from our second stay at the Hotel Napoleon. The staff, location, food and comforts are second to none. We enjoyed relaxing in the hotels large lounge with comfortable couches and beautiful oil paintings. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The Metro is right outside the front door and the concierges are well...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
