I stayed several times at the Genio, usually with friends on a fun trips. The location is great, the rooms are ok for the price, always clean. The breakfast room is a bit small, but the food is ok. What I love in this hotel is the staff, very friendly and helpful.

Had to smile when I read through all the other bad comments of guests who stayed at the Genio cause we share lots of the experiences behind them also. Arriving at 11 at night with my brother and my father, it was not very pleasant to have a rude hotel guy telling us that in both of our booked rooms...

Good location, decent rooms, but I would never stay at a Leonardi (the owners of the Genio) property again. Here is an email we sent to the management. We went through a scary experience that disrupted our stay, and upset many hotel guests. They never apologized. They never had the decency to respond after numerous attempts to contact them. (I...

Beware anyone considering booking this hotel!!!. Having booked through the hotel's own web site 2 months in advance we arrived only to find a very brusque front desk clerk telling us that they had overbooked and we should make our way to another hotel in the chain that had a room. When I asked to see the manager I was...

We were booked at another hotel in this group - the 3* Daniela, which appeared OK but was in a slightly remote location away from Termini station. On our arrival there at 22.30 we were not best pleased to be told that the hotel was full - but they could transfer us to the 4* Genio at no extra charge....

Just got back from our stay at the Genio and was delighted with the hotel. Location is super, 3 mins walk to the piazza navona and easy walking to the trevi and the pantheon. The staff were great and couldn't do enough to help you find your way across the city. The rooms were tastefully decorated and well furnished. The...

We had the same experience as "GLADIATOR 163". I made reservations on 30 May '07 for 5 nights 28 Sept- 3 Oct. When we arrived, they were overbooked and my copy of the confirmed e-mail meant nothing. We considered it a definate "bait & switch". They did have room at another of their Leonardi chain hotel, and sent us over...

We stayed at the Hotel Genio for 3 nights. We had initially booked another hotel, but switched to the Genio because of its location near the Piazza Navona. The location was ideal and we walked to all the sites and attractions. The hotel itself was a little tired looking and our room smelled quite musty. It may have been related...

We reviewed this hotel through trip advisor and found many varying results. Its not the cheapest place to stay but what a fabulous location. The rooms were clean and spacious, bedding and towels were changed frequently during our 4 night stay as well as the complimentary toiletries. The breakfast was as expected, continental, with cheese, meat, eggs, cereal, bread, tea...

Stopped at the Genio Hotel in Rome during a 3 city trip to Italy in July 2007. The hotel is in a great location, central for all sights. Vatican is minutes away, as is Piazza Navona. We walked to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Coleseum easily from here. The roof terrace is the best bit, take drink up...
