This hotel was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. Family run, friendly, reasonably priced. Excellent value for money. Comfortable and clean. Would also recommend to others. Only 5 minutes ( possibly less) to the Metro thus access to all the attractions of Rome. Quirky lift that I won't ever forget - very bohemian

This hotel is small but beautiful. Marble floors. Lots of woodwork framing on the walls, paintings and drawings in hardwood frames, glazed terracotta tiles on the hall and room floors (Instead of the usual tacky carpets), a fully functional cage elevator, wallpapered hallways and rooms, comfortable beds, well maintained almost-antique furniture, generously sized rooms and bathrooms (this being Europe). This...

We stayed for a couple days on the tail end of our trip to Europe. Hotel was very clean and nice. Location isn't the best if you want to walk around Rome. The room was very nice, clean and lots of room. Nothing bad to say, staff was wonderful, just wish we were closer to the City Center.

Positives: Bright reception and breakfast area. Good food spread for breakfast. Helpful staff. Centrally located near Termini station. 10 mins walk. Negatives: Room was small and very dull. Not upto expectations.

Everything is perfect at this hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful. Everybody will greet you with a smile! Room with a nice decor, large enough and comfortable. Though the hotel has an old-fashioned touch to it, the bathroom is modern. Breakfast is available for 6 euros and you should definitely get it. It has everything from eggs to fresh...

In September 2016 myself and my husband stayed at the Hotel Canada for our 4 night trip, Upon first arrival at the hotel we were met at the door by the hotel concierge who politely welcomed us and helped carry our cases to check in. The check in staff were very friendly and smiley which is always nice. They explained...

Great hotel, traditional looking. Staff were helpful especially Arber, who greeted us so nicely when we arrived and was at reception most of the time when we were going in and out. Room was clean and spacious, good beds and as we had two kids with us this is especially important. Two separate beds made up for kids also which...

It just dawned on me while making reservations for our return trip this Sept., that I didn't write a review of this hotel following our stay last June.......We LOVED the Hotel Canada! The hotel is less than a 10 min walk (while pulling luggage) from the train station, which made it easily accessible w/o needing to flag a taxi. Many...

Great location, good breakfast, very nice rooms and friendly staff. We booked a deluxe room for 88 Euros per night inkl. Breakfast. Very good price for what you get. Room had a balcony and the place is close to Termini. I would book it again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In an elegant historic building in the centre of Rome, the Hotel Canada represents the outcome of Hoteliers' generations experience. It shows the ancient tradition of hospitality that renews itself every day. A recent refurbishment has rediscovered the original architecture of the building. It was constructed in 1870 in order to provide accommodation for officers from the nearby barracks of Castro Pretorio. The Hotel Canada is easily reachable from "Termini Station" (500 m), the most important station of the Eternal City and the main rail yard of Italy. This Station is well connected with both airports of Rome: Roma Leonardo da Vinci/ Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino. The Hotel Canada is located in an ideal spot to visit the very historic centre of Rome. It is close to the subway (Line B, Castro Pretorio's stop) that allows every guest to reach the downtown in just a few minutes. ... more   less
